Eastern Tasmania Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday 28th February)

Best Days: Monday morning at south swell magnets, dawn Wednesday at open beaches

Recap

There wasn't much in the way of surf yesterday leftover from Wednesday's NE windswell, but today a small increase in S'ly groundswell has been seen with variable winds.

This weekend (Mar 1 - 2)

There's nothing too major on the cards for this weekend, with this morning's S'ly swell expected to fade overnight with tiny surf left into tomorrow.

A possible late increase in new S'ly groundswell is due Sunday afternoon but winds will be terrible and fresh from the SE.

Next week onwards (Mar 3 onwards)

A slightly stronger pulse of S'ly groundswell is due on Monday generated by the remnants of Tropical Cyclone Guito in the form of a strong polar low sliding along the polar shelf on the periphery of our swell window. This system will push up towards Tassie tomorrow, but its path wont be ideal and only an inconsistent 2ft waves is expected across south swell magnets Monday with an early light N'ly wind.

Besides some weak NE windswell for Tuesday afternoon and early Wednesday there's still nothing major on the cards, but check back Monday for the next update.
