Desparately Seeking Susan. Ahhh... that brings back memories. Cept i don't remenber em. I think i saw that one during the period where me and my crew would pile in the trunk with the beer to get into drive-in movies for free. Which means i would've seen the movie, but not paid much attention.

Feeling nostalgic, now......... growin up in SF when i did, my mom would shoo us outside to play. She'd say "it's a beautiful day, go outside." (It coulda been raining and she would say that.) The rule was to be home before the streetlights went on. I was usually at Ocean Beach, but would travel all over The City. As young as 8 years old. I would ride my bike over the Golden Gate Bridge and go to the flea market in Sausalito. Never told my parents where i'd been. (They prob didn't always wanna know, lol.) For a coupla years, my crew and I would break in to the SF Zoo by climbing the fence where the water buffalo lived. We'd dart from tree to tree thru it's pen and get to the zoo and just drink beer and watch the animals sleep. (The ones who weren't housed at night.) We had no idea til much later how dangerous water buffalos are. This one was well fed and lazy. Kids today growin up in The City seemingly can't do any of the stuff i got to do, and if a group of teens were caught in the zoo at night, there'd be arrests, i'm pretty sure. Oh well. That thing about You Can't Go Home (Frost?) is true for me, cuz home doesn't exist anymore and my City is completely different.

Hey Zen. San Jose in the 70s and 80s (and a century leading up to that) was a farming community. Fruits and vegatables. Prunes, apricots, grapes, hops, avocados..... it was mostly orchards. It was a little surreal to watch it become Silicon Valley. Now, it is larger and more populated than The City.

I first heard this song in about 2007 coming home from a big weekend of no sleep and parties and nightclubs. The 19 year old girl i was going home with would'nt hook up with me even though i paid entry for her to some clubs and bought her water. I later realized the old bikie she was with was getting her to sell pingers and meth for him. i wasnt interested in the meth and had enough eccies and coke for a few friends.
Anyway going home she put this compilation on and this song i had to put on repeat. It was the first time i heard it and saw her smile so we started hooking up in front of the bikie on the back seat. He got the shits as he was into hardstyle or hard house which both i really hate.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dseJfdlUdNQ
Next time she rang me i told her straight up," you only call me when you want a free night out." But good times though. That was after i spent a day in the city of Sydney shopping for xmas presents for my friends and family, she rang so i met her at Tank night club..while i was dancing by myself, her and the bikie got the shits the music was house and breakbeats and left with all my presents in her car...
Called her about it and she reckons one of her shellharbour mates stole them all....good riddance scab.

in my twenties i was responsible for the playlists of bong sessions or surf checks and surf trips which was mostly 90's or 80's punk rock, metal, breakbeats house, trance or techno.I spent a lot of money on cd's and albums and had a huge collection.
I also made mixed playlists to suit planned surf videos i was thinking of filming of Sydneys reefs and surrounds. One day my mate brought back a hot bogan girl and said wait till you here "groundswells" music. i put on a freshly bought Dire Straits album and my mate got the shits saying "what are you thinking this music sucks!". I think the girl thought we were dorks or something after a few songs..anyway i like Dire Straits always have always will.

I used to get annoyed by homosexuals in school and bagged them out sometimes as girly behavior annoyed me in a male. However after meeting some pretty cool homosexuals in my life i have a lot of empathy for them, especially the ridicule or homophobia people have around them. Poofter bashing is on another level too and this song creeps me out a little as he's perving on a guy diving in a pool but getting bashed for pretty much harmless behavior is ridiculous.Lucky he has friends.

Imagine a world where the best tune smiths fly under the radar.
The singer goes from band to band becoming more obscure as he goes.
Everyone sings his songs but none ever care to pin up his poster!
Yet, there he stands in plain sight...centre of attention...How is it so?
Thanks to seeds & swellnet we can out this Chameleon!
We're not alone....On one of these tracks...re: YouTube comments > punter also reveals the master!
He is known to those who enjoy each of these tunes...which is pretty easy as they're high rotation.
Guess this Musical Artist deserves a dedication...Salute to the master of Groovy Tunes.
UK Psychedelic Flower Power Band (re: 2 Deep Purple members in the touring band)
tbb is cuing this tune to show Tony's range & background > ( UK / SoCal Beach Boys / Flower Power)
Can hear : Bee Gees / US Pet Sounds Harmonies meets prog lush Moody Blues layering...
Note: This song is not catchy as such...more so a respected singalong!

Hello TBB
I will have a look around a find a few of your posts that I have seen pop up , but have not checked out .
I saw a County ( or something ) in the US , brought back in masks .
Within 24 hours , public opinion forced them to change their minds .
The information U provide , I find valuable .
I love your taste in music .
My knowledge of music is not the best and I love seeing your clips .
I can suggest ( can't post as a T rex ) an Old Clip ( Black and White ) that I love every time I hear it .
Melani - Candles in the Rain . Please find the Live version performed in the Netherlands .
Perhaps ( if I had one ) in my top 10 live performances EVER .
The audience is SOOOO daggy ( like me ) but just loved her ( first time they had seen or heard of her ) . So TV Carson show lol .
edit
It was performed in 1970 with the Edwin Hawkins Singers .
There is a clip that goes for 7 minutes that include her being introduced the the audience .
She had just come from Woodstock and the audience thought she was from Mars . at first .
edit
I just watched it again .
It ( the whole clip esp the end ) is just magical .
The energy and love in that studio went OFF the charts .
Melani was moved , so , the band and audience joined in .
She changed peoples lives with this song .
Remember the Vietnam War ?
Remember the brave stand another Man took on that War .
Ali , another great name .
Gosh , he was willing to fight , but wouldn't in Nam , so was banned from fighting , at home .
Weird .
So good for me to hear after the War Thread .
edit
I recently saw Melani sing with a friend , Miley Sirus ?
Candle in the Rain was a song with a message sung a talented woman .
The message resonated so loudly in her and in the people of the time who heard it , it became a Uniting Anthem .
When she sung it , I could she her change and she just kept getting stronger .
Everyone in that Studio was willing to follow her .
So cool .
A God job , she became a Joan of Ark , on Live television .
lol So , check it out TBB , U legend .

ISA coming out Song @ Fernando's #2021 Surf City Closing Ceremony El Salvador...
(#1swellnet Tribute) "Fernando's tribal Surf Council mandated Surf Shanty Directive!"
Psalms [2:45]
"I would like to present The ISA Song & I would like the Minister to Join me!
I know the Minister like to sings and dance..Ha! Ha! Huh! Huh!
So this is a Song! We never had a Song...you know a lot of these Songs from Federations, from Countries are quite boring. This is supposed to not be a Boring Song, it is a song for Dancing for Singing and for playing again, you will find this on Spotify, you'll find it everywhere and I already have it on my Mind...I hear it a few times.
It was composed a month ago and 'scripted' by Argentinian Multi Grammy Award Winner Senor Flavio Cianciarulo from a band called Los Fabulosos Cadillacs. Flavio is a Surfer (WSL Daughter Surfs for Argentina) and he was inspired by that Phrase I created 2 years ago.."A better World thru Surfing".
You have your Lyrics with You...Do you have your Lyrics? It's that Paper that was on your Chair...I know you're sitting on top of it...it's a nice paper. This is the ' First Time in history! ' that we're gonna sing this song and believe me...we are gonna be singing this song for many years.
It's about thanking, with Love, the Oceans and our Planet, they are the ones that allow us to have so many happy moments in our Life riding waves and it's also honouring just a little bit of Hawaiian, it's in English & a little bit Hawaiian. It also honours our Hawaiian Surfing Roots. The Great Duke Kahanamoku, the wonderful Queen of Makaha Rell Sunn and of course the other great Hawaiian Eddie Aikau and in this particular case of today it's in memory of the soul of a person who has been with us the whole competition 'Olympian' Katherine Diaz whose spirit is here today with us...
So, Let's Sing! Let's Clap our Hands and Dance! GET UP GUYS!
You need to Get Up!
You Can't Sing sitting ...It's not Healthy!
[ THIS IS OUR SONG GUYS ]
Whole crew were moved to tears...so why they all just sit there & refuse to sing!
Nope! Crew were not dregged out on ISA Shroom Punch...then why such a Tough Gig for Fernando!
It was mid Covid & Crew donned Masks + singing was in breach of ISA Covid Safe Comp rules...and...
Ends with Fernando vomiting over his own $Gazillion Multi Grammy Award Winning Surf Beat Intoxia!

couldn't agree more seeds, as a kid I wowed to Hollis Brown on my mum's Time a Changing LP.. dark stuff..
Then had this tape stuck in my ratty Daihatsu Rocky's tapedeck for 6 months.
(Early 90s at Canunda NP, carbound in the Rocky, only Dylan to listen to, with wind and rain pelting, getting ripped with my girlfriend, I was ranting about the genius of Dylan doing Rising Sun from the girl's point of view, when the Ranger knocks on the window, we jumped a mile, wind down the window to shroud him in smoke, and babbled 'were not camping' type stuff - our campfire and wet swags beneath his feet - I think he just thought we were funny and harmless. Anyway, early Dylan is pretty dang good.)

1979 Christie Allen songs No.1 / Goosebumps / Magic Rythm were pretty daggy back in the day...
Plain dead 70's UK > Oz MOR tacky Pop in amongst edgy new wave sounds
Was gonna run the risque Goosebumps for a laugh but then come across 1998 Lively Mushie brew.
Gooey Pop song gets a Bogan Pub Rock tweak to slipstream the New Millennium retro groove.
No right to perform such a daggy 70's song on MCG arena rock stage.
Turns out this performance was from a premium Mushie gig...tbb might load it on Ben's Tunes!.
Oz Counter Meal with Cristie's Mushies...sure why not!...bring it!
tbb promised never to like this gooey song but 45yrs on tbb no longer gives a shit about standards!
Merit & Sound...gotta give Christie credit for keeping it real & bringin' it...'nother cup of Mushies.
Swear her voice sounds better...lends more cred to the song...sounds more dangerous...like AIDS!
Just sayin' even daggy songs will grow on yer for all the wrong reasons...wear ya down in the end..SOS.

25 y/o George joins on Vocals/Mellotron during 1970-74.
Published by Go-Set Mag / Sample / Not For Sale / Spelling Mistakes...(Never Charts anywhere!)
Toy Keyboard / Cartoon Vocal to ride the Bubble Gum wave...Why sabotage a surefire C/G Fortune!
Johnny Farnham has an ear for a quality tune & likewise thought that sounds peculiar!
Possible that Molly ~ Go-Set gave it a spin for Johnny...
Any can hear this C/G track is Gold = Money for Jam...a hot apple pie just sittin' on the shelf.
Johnny : "Something very strange that I just had to say...!"
tbb was 10 y/old when he first heard Johnny Farnham sing "Everything is out of Season"
1973 recording was his last Top 10 Hit of 70's but it flies under the radar...still sounds cool...happy to share!
All hail our King of Pop for salvaging & polishing up this contraband under the counter Gem.
PS : Do any others feel this was used in a Commercial / Jingle...sure sounds real cruizey & catchy!

In fact tbb dedicates (Sacrifices) Hall of Fame Embarrassing song that you love to seeds!
It's too late to turn back now ...& just like that...one by one the crew were all hooked!

First song is from tbb's alt '70's single pile of ....
Very much wanna shake this song off but it clings to me arms > Side Leg whatever...
Then tried Kick Flipping it...
(Backtrack) Ultra smooth song awkwardly combos "Too late to Turn Back Now" (Above)
Say Awkwardly because both are different styles but both sound ahead of their time
No doubt about it they're from similar singles era with desperate dudes swooning over their Ladies!
Was rumoured to be written for Elvis...don't laugh that off, as this passes Show-tune Test with Spades.
Just quietly you can't help hear Elvis at his prime in the Vocals...can almost picture it...song is that good!
Dunhill Steve Barri's / Grass Roots band knocked it back as too light...(Nope!...song has creepy cred )
Wrecking Crew (Extras) say they recorded it (vs) Hamilton(vg)JoeFrank(b)Joe jr(d)Reynolds(k)
1970 Don't Pull Your Love (Sounds real modern > like 1976 Vegas Elvis) on Alt [Probe Records]

Just to prove this Live Band Combo are real hip groovers " B-Side / Funk-in-Wagnal
Sharing this as a treat coz Band seldom if ever stray from MOR...(Passes off as Alt Cool Instrumental)
Ups the value from MOR Pile to a double dip flip on the sly! See wot ya reckon of kinky Alt a/b single
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSeSgLjZEYw
H, JF & R contiue as MOR but rise up 5 years on! Crew may have heard this rare alt Top shelf track.
(Baby,Baby) Falling in Love (Again) [Playboy Records] (A play on Player-Baby Come back!)
Not on trashy Countdown pop tart > Reserve Stock for us Donnie Sound Unlimited snob Gromz.
Again it was a US / Canada hit that copped Donnie's kiss of death...to not chart in Oz...but we recall it!
Oct 2024 swellnet embarrassingly preferred Sound Unlimited Donnie as ESTYL soul train Groupie!

Continuing same early '70's era with an Embarrassing pack of Bubblegum Cards.
1967 Aussie Band The Dream
1969 Bubble Gum Name (New Dream)
1969 "Groupie" tbb has this rude single (Song is penned by Bubblegum Buzz / Listen > Hayride Bass Hook! Shh!)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1c1yJmcO1w
"Soft Delight" Perfectly sweet rare Bubble Gum Globule (Drooling!)
Puts to bed any doubters that Oz pub rockers don't enjoy chewing Bubble Gum...(That's Bullshit mate!)
Reckon a few crew might recall singin' along to this ultra cute catchy number.
Crew can be thankful that tbb has a sweet tooth...otherwise ya don't get yer sugar hit!
Seldom if ever played but feel free to tap'n'clap along to this irresistibly Groovy Tune.

swellnet drum circle *****
Songwriter / Drummer / Vocalist Dez Dyer + Clive Scott (Keyboards)
1973 This pair earlier wrote "Who do you think you are"
Bens Tunesmiths : "We can include that track as an equally embarrassing song...pretty cool double act!"
This lays down the foundation on how this pair got to record this next stunningly slick number....
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kv6ezvlGNJw
(Oz name) 'British' Jigsaw ~ Skyhigh
Ok...so now ya know this pair can put out top shelf supa slick Love Ballads...sensational smoothies!
None better than this impulsive dream sequence...how this drummer plays down his cool is the bomb!
Great example of a drummer's Voice as the lead instrument orchestrating (Driving) the band...
Listen to 1967 The Media's (Drummer) Rick Buckthorpe's impossibly cool vocals driving Endless Dream
Very similar striking performances...drummer tbb is in awe of just how hypnotically cool these cats are!
