Spooky Wellymon!

About 20 years ago rumours were circulating of paranormal UFO activity in and around the Southern Yorke Peninsula.
Some surfers were sleeping in their car on the clifftops at the Lizards carpark when a piercing white light surrounded their car. It seemed to be coming from all sides. But not a sound could be heard in the still night air?

And where in other areas of the state farmers would reap the paddocks at night as well as day, with large lights on their tractors to speed up the harvest a story got around that the practice was stopped down here after a farmer was spooked by a light following him through the fields.
Word was his wife saw it too as she was standing on the porch watching him speed back towards the homestead with this light following a few hundred metres behind?

Another story a mate told me was as he was driving back at night from a weekend of surfing and was almost to where the road meets the Saint Vincent Gulf and turns north towards Pt Waikfield. A bright light was visible hovering over the gulf and seemed to be growing larger. As he got closer it grew in size and my mate thought that a jet airliner could be flying low over the gulf right at him, with lights blazing. Soon he had to stop the car and look up through the windscreen as the whole of his vision was taken in by this blinding light.
Then nothing, it was gone, the sky was black and he sat in his stationary car wondering what the fuck just happened? When he got home he swears more than 5 hours had gone by since he started his drive even though its a three hour drive?

Yeah nice one YS,
In that book "Mysterious Australia" by Rex Gilroy, there has been a lot of UFO sightings and close encounters down around your way. I think a lot were also around the 70's and then again in the 90's, but during those times, different people reported the same experiences and sightings?
One lady was travelling along the Nullabor, with her kids in the back, when this strange light far behind her in the distance, then in a split second was above her car. Then something latched onto her roof of her car whilst she was still driving and picked the whole car up a few feet then dropped it, then disappeared ? She drove to the nearest town peaking out. Some official came and took samples of the roof where burnt marks were left, they were sent to NASA in the states to be examined. Reports came back of some unknown substances that have never to this day been found Earth?

, 1380984643

I'm going to be that guy, skeptic or realist?
If archeologists have discovered the broad spectrum of dinosaur species why no solid evidence of the yowie or Bigfoot or whatever term you want to call it?
Maybe it's legit that you've had a semi interaction with a undiscovered creature but there are so many bullshit stories it really makes me cynical of all the stories.
Jane Goodall a very respected monkey expert says 100% there's a Bigfoot that's existed or still out there.
There was some super ape in dinosaur times that could have some ansestors that have filtered down the ages.

The odds of you hearing this thing are a million more times unlikely than winning the lotto.
I'm not calling you a liar but it probably has another explanation and I don't believe it was a Yowie

, 1381004112

Classic stories fellas.. I love this stuff.

Welly, you're speaking of the Knowles family out on the Nullabor. There's some epic interview footage following that incident here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8H36o8TzX7s

, 1381006048

bloody hell mrs Knowles, a BFO....
you filled the thermus up with datura again.
200km/perhour in a fully loaded telstar and survived a flat tyre....I want one
the family = the result of inbreeding

, 1381007636

another interview --- derryn hynch interviewing the Knowles family is a fucking classic !

, 1381009028

Hey momma Knowles, pack me another bong will ya.

, 1381011234

That Knowles interview was rather wacky! Maybe they got probed?
Of more interest in the related video's linked below was one for a dwarf throwing contest?
The wonders of YouTube!

, 1381014121

Cool story and im sure it happened and ive always wanted to believe but im a skeptic until i see hard evidence.

BTW. Nice area up there at Springbrook, I use to sometimes head up there to get a way from the Goldie jungle.

, 1381018362

@welly, just google earthing around the general area of your village, directly east bang smack in the middle of the scrub shows some buildings, any idea what they are ? one looks like a farm setup fairly big ?....the other a distance away a shed or large humpy type of building...national park buildings ?

, 1381022374

Bushi, yeah it baffles me too, honestly. Where is the hard evidence? Plaster cast foot prints? Hair samples that have been sent away to forensic people (never to be returned or lost), 4-8 inch trees snapped off in random areas (with no storm activity or damage) same kind of trees bent over like an arch with rocks and branches shoved into the ground to stop the tree from spring back up? Canine teeth marks up 7-8ft on tree limbs, Thousands of documented sightings of the Yowie/Dooligahl since the first settlers arrived and Aboriginal caves paintings and beliefs? BUT NO BONES, skeletons, graves found? I'm perplexed as well with many others.
There are many theories to why, some people believe they are even inter-dimensional? Which took me awhile to swallow that.
There has been numerous sightings this year in Nth NSW, Qld and even one 70km east of Perth, last week a sighting in Daisy Hill Brisbane, a bloke was being stalked with his 2 year old kid at hand. Which has been a very common thing with the kid/Yowie interaction or curiosity?

Ben started watching the Knowles Nullabor footage but the internet streaming is shit out here, I will have to wait, pretty trippey stuff eh.

Indo, yeah Im not sure, We live up Bonogin Valley, where the south ridge follows all the way unobstructed to Springbrook. They are the biggest predators in the bush so their roaming, hunting grounds are vast, which is why I think Ive only had 2 incidents in 9 years around my house, could've been more?
I know a guy who's done a lot of field research up there and is pretty much shit scared of one place, where he won't go back to that certain area because of the aggressiveness, big thunder egg rocks being lobbed from 50m away in the bush at him....? The rocks that we could not throw 5 m, like shot puts.

, 1381030949

YS, do you remember the Pt Wakefield ghost stories from about 15 years ago? I recall they used to appear somewhere near a fatal car crash on that stretch (can't remember exactly where), and crew bolting over in the middle of the night would sometimes see all kinds of weird things when they passed through.

Wasn't sure if they were just perhaps exceptionally stoned at the time though :D

, 1381041075

It sounds vaguely familiar Ben but can't recall anyone who personally experienced that ghost sighting?

The lost time thing my mate experienced when he saw the UFO is kinda freaky?
I wonder if the Knowles family could of lost some time? Could they have been taken, examined and returned to their car with an implanted memory to erase the experience from their mind?

If they did its not surprising the UFO's fucked off and haven't been seen since. Lets just say they didn't choose the greatest specimens there to examine as representative of the human race?

, 1381108079

one of the boys mentioned it felt like my brains were being sucked out of me ?

it may of happened to the whole family I think !

be a grin to catch up with knowels family in a 'where are they' now show I reckon.

, 1381144743

Hey YS, could that story of the light out from Port Wakefield be maybe from the Proof and Experimentation facility just south or the army firing range?

They could of been some funky/secret stuff no?

, 1381895554

50000shadesofgrandma, they are out there for sure, alot of sighting in USA as well here in Australia.
They are so at one with the forest, this is why I think no one has hard eveidence yet..?
Only a matter of time with technology, especially cameras, Go Pros etc.

Here is a link from a guy in the USA who has made alot of contact with them latley, ie placing different coloured rocks in the area where he has seen the BigFoot, only to come back a couple of days later to find the rocks have been rearranged into pryamid structures.??
About 3mins into the video is where you can make out something, thats for sure. Feel free to comment, I think it is pretty real.

I'm not sure how to get rid of the sad face in the link, SN techs help.!!
Just type in the http thing first yourself and go from there.

Cheers mate nice to hear your story from far away :)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fLJP-zlmXzE

, 1381895677

OOOps looks like the little gremlin has gone from the link. :)

I cracked it, finally.

, 1381908413

Welly do you know If there has ever been any skeletons or bones found of these things? Surely if there real someone would have come across a skull or something?

, 1381962302

goofyfoot, I'm not sure to be honest.
There are different theories on that, I know in the Australian bush things get devoured so fast by ants and other predators, leaves seem to cover things up pretty quick as well. Some people believe they are not flesh and blood, but inter dimensional.?? A lot of sightings in Australia have been closely related or in the same vicinity as the elusive Black Panther? I think they are flesh and blood. This topic is an open discussion with many believers, some well respected Australian field researchers have witnessed Yowies in a gliding motion that they cant explain, i.e. gliding 100 m in 2 seconds, this motion has been witnessed by different people.
I know it sounds absurd but when well respected people say they have witnessed this, well you really cant dismiss the idea.

Who knows they might get buried by their peers, deep in the bush, the Australian bush is so vast and small percentage of people that use the bush have not even set foot in the millions of hectares that are out there.

, 1381970536

That is something that I've wondered about. Where do the bodies go? There is talk among the native Americans that the big foot disposes of the bodies of their dead by consuming them. Bones are then crushed and scattered. Guess that could be a reason there have been no remains found. In Tibet they practice 'sky' burials, the bodies are broken up and fed to the carrion birds. Complete disposal. Anyway, on a brighter note, I hope that all these mysteries will one day be revealed. We just need to keep an open mind,

, 1381984042

That Malcom Naden guy ran around up in the mountains of Northern NSW eluding capture for 8 years despite a huge police manhunt so it's not that big a stretch to think an intelligent human/ape creature adapted to such an environment could be living out there? Wonder if he saw any?
It really is a vast continent Australia. In some parts of central Western Australia, even in the 1980's they used to say there were aboriginal tribes that had never seen a white man up close, just the vapour trails of jets passing overhead.

, 1381986244

So true YS, the valley where we look down on, I'm sure not many people go and venture down there. Ive been down into the creek bed and found some big rocks that you or I could not lift, but they have been placed in a wierd manner, as if someone has wanted to create a bathing pool for when it floods...?

This guy Gary Opit was a skeptic, being an environmentalist in the Australian flora and fauna he has come to realise, also part 2&3

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rr8Ic9yvvAI&list=UUReY1GZMUMxSQNs4okQPcOg

Here is a interesting link from a farmer down in Taaree ways NSW, he's fair dinkum, also as big as one too...? There is part 2 as well.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TsDM4b5SqaQ&list=UUReY1GZMUMxSQNs4okQPcOg

Welcome to some feed back of what you honestly think, from watching these interviews, I dont think they are hoax interviews.

, 1381988846

Interesting Welly! They seem to be pretty certain about what they saw/heard, especially the second guy.
You can get those camouflaged, motion detection activated infrared cameras that you can set up remotely these days. Surely an image could be captured of one?
How does your misses feel when your away at work? Would of thought she would be pretty cautious of walking about alone up in your neck of the woods? I'd buy a gun!

, 1381988883

after 17 visual encounters ....no pics , no footage ?????
with the high tech cameras/phones avail to us whenever we do get to see footage of a yowie or black panther why do we only get grainy long distance pics or footage that you cannot really make out what it is.

, 1382005168

@ys and udo, yeah it amazes me for sure, especially the guy from Taaree you would think he would take a camera with him the whole time...? I think in my eyes he is quite a basic kind of a bloke though. A camera of this day an age would probably delude him self.?

Another thing YS you have mentioned is infrared cameras, all of the well respected field researchers i.e Rusty 222 reckon that these hominoids are so attuned, that infrared they can sense hundreds of yards away, you think about it really, a hominoid that has lived in the bush for thousands of years escaping the detection of the human race and seeing a bright red light at night when they are already nocturnal...???

I put a link on SN a while ago on another tread to do with the devil devil which after 2 years has only been released due to aboriginal rights. The devil devil is a 2-3 Ft hairy man and is quite often seen in the NT by the Aboriginal community over many years.
I will try and get the link , but just type in devil devil rusty 222 and you will find it, pixallated footage but real I think.
Zenagain couldn't sleep that night...??haha :)

, 1382045731

@ welly, its interesting nearly all of the sightings or encounters report smelling a very similar odour, sulphur like in your case or burnt electrical/bakelite.

Interesting read this thread mindblowing stuff. kind of spooky really.

yorkessurfer, 1382958039

Media Watch tonight has the NT News' recent reports of alien abductions and probing. Damn those little grey men......

http://m.ntnews.com.au/article/2013/10/10/325924_ntnews.html

wellymon, 1384200015

Yeah Groundswell the 1st link you posted above (Bigfoot) is the original footage was from a guy Roger Patterson in 1967 on his super8. To this day it is the only footage credited through scientific analysis, people said the footage was a hoax but the latest scientific report showing, dimensions height and weight, walking formation, bone structure, once digitally upgraded and zoom in they could study muscle movement in the legs, shoulders etc. The report concluded that at that time in the 60's a hoax was not fathomable, ie suit and costume technology was limited.

Original footage below.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOxuRIfFs0w

Interesting things have been happening around various parts of Australia in the last 3 weeks, been 18 sightings of Yowies overall. Repeated sightings for a week by a family of 5 young boys playing down in their back yard up in the Blue Mountains.

If you don't look you will not see.

udo, 1386897583

going back to my youth spending a lot of years around coolangatta area, I just remembered a tale that was always told, was about travelling down the tweed coast on the goat trail it was back [mid to late 70s] then to surf around cabba and further sth to wooyoung . driving solo numerous people had stopped and picked up a hitchhiker ,normal chit chat for 15 mins or so.........when the hitcher asked to be dropped off you pull over and come to a stop........and theres nobody in the car with you ?
but you have been chatting to someone for the last 10 or 15 mins who you thought was sitting next to you, was a female guest always by memory....................something about a teenage girl killed in a car accident around black rock ? and then hitched up and down that road scaring the fuck out of people .
sidthefish this story ring any bells ?

zenagain, 1386901512

Udo, I vaguely remember that story or something similar. We used to camp in our boardbags along that stretch years ago, pulling cones and sleeping under the casurinas. We never saw her but this crusty old fella we knew from Uki told us that he picked her up once. He was a bit of a wombat but he always had heaps of good bush buds so we indulged him.

I remember the stories about the Yagen monster too and as a little grommet I was always shit scared of going there. To be honest, I've never been there.

thermalben, 1386903663

Heard a similar story about the stretch of road near Pelican Beach on the Cenny Coast, Udo.

wellymon, 1386909242

Good yarn Udo, if that happened to yourself, you'd have to think your've honestly lost the plot, wouldn't ya..?
What's the Yagen monster Zen..? Where is Yagen.

zenagain, 1386914651

Here you go Welly.

That's the thing, nobody knows what the Yagen monster is.

I just remember it as a spooky campfire story as a grommy.

Probably made up by the locals to keep others away. There's some pretty nice beachies around that area and not very crowded.

http://www.yowiehunters.net/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=3909

wellymon, 1386918876

Yeah Zen, he's the resident surfing Yowie for sure,
Wouldn't want to drop in on him :)

udo, 1396860995

@welly, a Yowie hunt {Canadian] going on in your area at the moment are you involved ?

Blowin, 1396878968

G'day Wellymon
Not trying to put the cold spoon on your hopes of catching the yowie but in your first post on this thread you mentioned a couple of things that struck a chord with me. The first is the heavy crash into the piers on your house and the heavy bipedal running flat out through the bush sounds an awful lot like a startled swamp wallaby , a heavy set wallaby with dark fur that smashes it's feet and tail into the ground when it's running scared to deter predators into thinking its massive and maybe to warn other wallabies. I have had one bolt into a shack I was staying in over east and it was just like you described , the whole joint shook. They sound like they weigh a tonne bolting through the bush and I mean bolting through any kind of thick scrub.

The gut wrenching sound your mate heard at 3 am ? You ever heard the sound a male koala makes? It's like the sound like I imagine the devil would make when he discovers GOD has drank his last cold beer. No shit. It's hard to correlate such a vicious noise with such a cuddly looking animal and that sound fucking carries. Google it.

They seem like pretty likely suspects where you live but if you find out it is a Yowie. Don't keep it to yourself, your gonna need all the friends you can get when The Man comes after you like Elliot and E.T.

reecen, 1396880508

Blowin busting myths.
Just youtubed koalas roaring and If I was in the bush at night and heard that horrible noise I would be positive I was about to be eaten.
No one tells you they sound so frightening when you grow up in the west.

I have lay in a swag numerous times though and heard red kangaroos and biggeda wallabies smash there way through the bush like wrecking balls.
Had one 6 foot ball of muscle charge straight into the side of a range rover that was almost stationary. Had to throw the door away and get a new one, it looked like it had been hit by a rhino.

wellymon, 1396883443

Udo , no
But been reading about it, been getting lots of tree knocks around here a couple of weeks ago, always at the same times 10pm -2 am, sat on the upper deck and just listened for a few hours. One would be about 2 to 3 hundred meters away SW direction, one knock then two quick knocks. Then 15 mins later another knock 2-3 hundred meters NW direction would occur, only one knock. Continued for a few nights in a row.
Went down in the bush and have found very large bipedal tracks, especially after the rain, ground disturbance for sure, twice as long as a human footstep.
I know they are there, they are smart and nocturnal.

Blowin, we have 2-3ft bush wallabies here, that can not at all shake the house like that....?

I hear koalas all the time as does my next door neighbour, we both know what they sound like.

It's taken me along time and many hours sitting silently on my deck at night and early hours of the morning to understand and listen to what is going on out there. Not many people do that trust me.
I have some good research of my own happening, patience.
I believe they are there.

Blowin, 1396910562

Yeah Reecen, the old car hit by roo story. Had it happen myself a couple of times. Both times at Cape range national park , that joint has the highest concentration of dumb euros and roos of anywhere I have seen.
I reckon they run into the car because both their ears are so fixed on the sound that to them , with their super sensitive hearing, must be overwhelming . So they are panicked, their ears are aimed at the sound and their head aims in that direction also. Unfortunately where your head points your body follows and they ram your car.

Would not like to have a red do it, your lucky just your car was fucked.

ACB__, 1396915611

Last winter coming back from Splendour in the Grass, me and 3 mates where doing the heavenly road trip from Byron to Sydney scoring waves the whole way down. After a few nights at Angourie we decided to go bush and look for other more isolated waves and I've heard there are some fun beachies and good rivermouth fishing between angourie and brooms head.

North of brooms there's a national park camp ground right on the coast and we set up there. Near the big red cliffs. After a day of pretty shit beachies and wishing we stayed at angourie, we went into brooms to the pub for some grub, and ended up talking to an old local bloke who said we where mad to camp where we where. He told us that a young girl got picked up hitchhiking between Yamba & Brooms, raped and murdered by two men, cut up into bits and ditched in a grave, and nobody ever got caught. At the time and a few vitamin B's down we where sort of playing the "ohh yeahh good one" just locals having a laugh out of tourists but he was pretty serious.

After getting back to the camp spot we where sitting around talking shit, having a fire enjoying the goods we had got from Nimbin before heading down. We started to get real on edge though when we started seeing flashing torch lights and tree's rustling as if someone was bushwalking at like 2am in the middle of nowhere. We saw exactly where it was about 2-300 meters away. We didn't suss it out then and there though cause we where pretty shit scared and the lights where not moving around heaps just staying in like a 2 meter radius.

It wasn't till the morning when one of my mates ran over and called us to come "look at this" when we packed our shit and left. There was a little track right near where we where looking last night and a little clearing that had a white cross heaps of dead old flowers, rosemary beads and shit, literally a really old looking overgrown grave. It was fucked.

In the car I googled " Brooms head murder " and was flooded with stories of Lee Ellen Stace who was as per the old guys pub story; murdered and dumped in the bush.. I dunno what the torch light and rustling was, but considering nobody was ever found guilty of this poor girl, It'd be one pissed off spirit.

Ha ha cape range national park was wear this fella charged into the rangey as well blowin.
He got knocked over then stood up looking all confused before he charged off again.
Took out another in a landcruiser doing about 140km an hour. That took a bit of bush panel beating before we could keep going.
Have seen it at night up that way when the highway is like a giant kangaroo slumber party. Have had to slow to less then 70km hr for 100 kms driving around kangaroos sleeping on the road.
The road trains aren't so nice to them though.

But hey they are doing that during the day...!

Love the list, shit that would've taken awhile.

Come hang with me for a night and listen to what is really out there, and check out the fauna and (tracks the next day, especially after rain) you would be very supprised.
I'm a good hunter trust me.

Fuck mate I'd love to , but it reminds me too much of this other time I met a guy that lived in a house way out the back of tweed. He asked me to a party at his place.

"Would be great fun "he said -" drinking, dancing , smoking, fighting, rooting - the works !"

"Fuck , sounds alright " I said, "how many people are comin ?"

He looked me straight in the eye and said " just me and you darlin' "

wellymon, 1397006177

Gold. hahaha :)

Sorry to disappoint you Blowin, but thats not my style.

Anyways whats the " Works!?", sounds like you could of been stuck in between a hamburger maybe.....?

oldman, 1397009881

Just read this forum. Some funny comments.
Interesting reading yorkessurfer comment re SYP.
We used to stay at lizards back in the 70's in my mates caravan.
One night he went out for a piss and came back white as a ghost.
Reckons he was chased around by a really bright white light.
He was tough and a charger in the surf, but refused to ever go back there.
We changed camps to Gleesons from then on, but until today I didnt know anyone else that encountered "things" in that area. Very interesting.

This stuff fascinates me Welly , but I just find it hard to believe that with all the easily affordable good quality digital cameras and motion sensor night vision cameras that there still isn't any crystal clear footage of them?

goofyfoot, 1397900581

Not denying there out there Welly, just not convinced yet..

wellymon, 1397902329

I understand what you are saying Goofyfoot, no worries there.

I know what you are saying about digital cameras, motion sensors etc. if you go deep on the site of "Yowie Hunters" you will find that being a nocturnal animal they are very sensitive to infrared.....?

Apparently there is a camera non infra red now...?
I'm looking into it as I have a few good advantage points using rope access high above, unlike other researchers who use them at eye level....

I'm getting pretty amped at the mo as, Myself and my wife have heard these hominids moving around around our section early hours of the morning the last months or so. I'm gonna put a melon up high in the tree tomorrow, higher than what a human can reach, as well as black cotton across the track I know they use ,thats above eye level....?

Been given these tips by an acquaintance off "YH", have found some astonishing footprints across moss covered logs, that have been there for years.....? These marks are twice as wide as a human and in the same spot..?

Hey Goofyfoot, be patient I will either see them or document them soon, I'm a good hunter bro, born and bred hunting deer and pig, have good tracking capabilities.
:)

goofyfoot, 1397903145

Good luck mate :)

Any joy with the black cotton or high hanging mango Wellymon? I'm intrigued to find out what those creatures are...

Cheers Whirly. I've been thinking about watching this but it seems like it's probably a bit dramatised too...?

wellymon, 1404079723

It is quite interesting Mitch Very Good, the fact that the remains found, looked from 100-200,000+ years ago, but were only around 10,000 years ago. So a different species was living present with the more modern Human.....?

mitchvg, 1404091970

this is a different species that was living with the modern day human in Yunnan!

wellymon, 1404095688

Classic MVG
The jaw looks quite protruding.
The fingers are showing a very modern human look.
The brow and forehead features are distinct in some way.
Let me guess, Homo Mitch Sapian Very Good Erectus??

fitzroy-21, 1404114082

Hey Welly, those rub marks etc on the trees, have you found or looked for any fur or hair caught in the bark or in the general area?

udo, 1404114615

Some saliva found and sent off for testing, results Welly ?

wellymon, 1404120627

Yeah Fitzy I'm at a stage of gathering leaf litter and drying out to send to a hair DNA specialist, that I have been in contact with. The "Hairy One" has not been around for awhile, as I'm waiting, but Ive been lazy, regards.... Waiting.....? Slow process as I'm keeping a diary at the moment to when I hear and feel that he/she is around. Its hard as sometimes I sleep all night, other times I wake and sit on the deck and hear things...?
I going to go back to my research site and gather leaf litter, dry it out and sort through it to find hairs longer than 2 inches, which are maximum for any Australian Marsupial...? I have a person now where I can send this to :) Pretty happy as all this takes time.
It might be really weird to you guys but, I live in the bush and I know they are there at certain times.....

Udo, funny you say that as the hair DNA specialists has given me some solutions to get salvia. As a result with in America.
They set up an Ice-cream container with the lid on, set it up in the trees, on the bottom of the container glued sand paper, then placed peanut butter on the sand paper, then put the lid back on...!
Came back and discovered the lid taken off, due to fingers and hand dexterity...... The peanut butter was licked down to the sand paper and Saliva DNA was taken...?
As usual authorities took the evidence, which even happens here in Australia....

When I took photos Fitzy of IMO where the "Hairy One" has been sitting checking me out at night, 2-3 weeks later I went down and found this which was not there before....?

This Tee Pee was 5ft away from IMO where the "Hairy One" has been sitting during the night checking me out, having a ciggy or just sitting listening.....???

I've been back and done little things, with regards to other peoples influences, but no response yet...?
Waiting
:)

wellymon, 1404125464

Udo, I love your interest as you are the one, when we had Private Messaging to get myself going on this topic, hence yourself the google master;)...!
I thought hard about putting this thread up, but I honestly thought fuck it, I might as well....
A: A lot of surfers live at the beach, hence no contact at all....!
B: It might recollect memories from their own or other peoples experiences that they know of, from various bush expeditions ...?
C: Im interested in this topic, the "Yowie" and have had many experiences living here for 11 years, that I believe myself and have come to the conclusion that they are the 'Ultimate Bushman/Women' IE being so elusive from the modern man for years.............
D: I know people will not believe until they have hard evidence, this will come soon, there are so many factors involved .....

Udo answering your question about the smell, NO, I/We have not smelt this since........Why I'm not sure wh...
Maybe certain times they are around and usually this is with SE-East winds, hence the smell gets blown away from us, back into the state forest, I know when we smelt this smell which I never have before... It was a NW-West wind , hence the smell, but during summer...? which is rare here up on the SE QLD coast.
I have been emailing a well represented person regards all this, he has his own facebook site on this topic, as he got the shits with "Yowie Hunters" as it become too "paranormal' and conjecture....? I'm not on facebook and don't want to be, so I just email him regularly to keep updated..
He was well interest in my" 2 cents worth thread" on YH and has been in contact for awhile since. Very interested in the tree where IMO they have been sitting, hence hair samples for DNA...? This is what he does and is in close relationship with other anthropologists etc.

As regards to my research site, I have been back and hung a water bottle up between the path with Nylon fishing line, as opossums will not climb down it... Drilled holes in the water bottle.. and put a couple of tablespoons of Nutella and some Starburst Snakes in...
That another story from a researcher that gave me this info ;) It worked...?

I had no luck tho, as I know these fellas go away for awhile then come back.
Thanks for the interest Udo, much appreciated.
I don't really care if people on here think I'm crazy...

I live in the Australian Bush close to the most historic and well represented "Yowie" sightings in Australia a hotspot ;)

udo, 1404185246

Do you still get the sulphur smell when its about.

udo, 1404200707

Welly , the Woodenbong stories on Cryptozoology News made the hair on my neck stand up !

Craig, 1404200961

I'm loving it as well Welly, pictures adding to the story/sightings are great as well. Keep us udpated!

wellymon, 1404202887

Here ya go, I've followed heavy tracks around my research site, directly to this log, now this moss has been growing on this log for years. As you can see closer to the camera is a worn out tread/footprint...??? and very big, as well along the log away from the first mark is another which is about 4-5ft long in between the first..?. I have not measured them but are a lot longer than human and wider...? As well you can see bark worn off trees whilst holding onto while walking...

wellymon, 1404202971

Udo just looked that one up, pretty cool site as well. (The book on there is supposed to be very well written"The Yowie: In Search of Australia’s Bigfoot " by Tony Healy and Paul Cropper).
This is why I do believe they are flesh and blood as there has been too many sightings from all walks of life here in Australia since the first settlers let alone the Aboriginals...?

Cheers Craig would love to see one champ, I Have a few more stories, one pretty trippy one that happened to my wife and her friend years ago, nothing to do with "Yowies" tho;) can't bore you all that much..haha
Its more about 'Dark Energy' Evil presence. oooooohhhhhhhh, Will get the correct info of my girl and type latter.

salt, 1404221627

Welly how does your other half cope out there, when your away, my mrs would be petrified if she thought some hairy ape thing was sniffing around, ewwww.

wellymon, 1404265921

Salt , funny you say that as, She is just as intrigued as myself... Let alone the "Hairy One" being just as intrigued and nosey theirselves........
You might laugh at this but there has been past reporting's where the "Hairy One" has stalked a lady of the house in the Blue Mountains...! These times were documented around the same time as the lady was having her monthlies ..... Great sense of smell, hence the ultimate bush one ;)

udo, 1404266421

The ultimate scent to attract a Yowie...........something used hanging from the trees by a string.........

wellymon, 1404268018

Classic Udo, A little messy to say the least;)

salt, 1404271988

Yeah, I'm not totally skeptical about these types of things but not sold on the whole thing either. Like how come no one has ever found a dead one? Or have they? I did hear a story recently of a couple of mates pulling over for a piss half way to Penong in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the night. Their dog went apeshit and they thought they saw a shadowy figure of something a bit bigger thana man, they all saw it. They shit themselves jumped back in the car and took off pronto.

Cheers BB, good link as I've come across this before.

Quote from Sykes " before I had an established reputation as a scientist," he admitted – said he was struck that science was accused by yeti enthusiasts of rejecting the notion of their existence. "This conflicts with the basic tenet that science neither rejects nor accepts anything without examining the evidence," the team wrote."
Interesting....?

Blowin no worries there brother, as there are many like yourself, no disrespect;)
You know what! it keeps me interested, especially where I live , as have previously said, prime hotspot...
Hey myself and my other half hear shit early hours sometimes, that has no reference to other nocturnal animals in Australia. Like I have photographed, with tracks etc, the sounds of wood knocks, broken tree limbs that don't sound like branches falling and to top it off with very heavy bipedal spaced apart footprints down in the bush close to my home....?
I know what you are saying Blowin:) this is my little research and it could go on for along time, which I think it will...;)
I'm looking into nocturnal night vision that can be set up with a video etc.. Whether it be high up in the trees using rope access, or from my deck........
Cheers fellas ;)

wellymon, 1404282622

....Edit sorry

Blowin, 1404283415

Sorry to you Welly, I didn't even finish the article and thought the scientists were writing off the Yeti , I felt like you'd been told there was no Santa so I jumped in gung-ho like a knob, as usual. As you were intrepid hunter.

Hahaha yeah Welly, I watched the doco and you're spot on! Good doco, it's good to think of ourselves as any other animal; similar species aren't uncommon and interbreeding does occur. There's a few good snippets in there where they basically just say, we don't really know shit all. I'd like to see an up to date map with the different theories, sites, dates and migration paths.

Salt, must've been Lifty out there.

Oh and Welly, was listening to Sunday Night Safran. They interviewed Robert Bruce, who has written The Practical Psychic Self-Defense Handbook. He said to clear a house of malevolent spirits, sulfur is the strongest fumigant. So ahhhhh, I guess that means The Hairy One isn't possessed...

Malevolent spirits, now this has me thinking about certain things around our house.

Quote FishLegs "My last post said Yeti, but in fact you are right Welly. It should have been Yowie. So how is it you have adopted a mythological creature in to your world when you don't have any first nation connection to their heritage or culture."

I have first connection bush experience where I live FishLegs, IMO I feel it has nothing to do with first nation connection to their heritage or culture.

Here is a great new site made by a bloke down South Coast NSW (Rusty222), IMO Rusty has done some amazing research and is in the forefront of Yowie research in Australia with a couple of others, enjoy:)

I saw a ghost, apparition, whatever you want to call it, of a middle aged man, when I was about 9 years old and staying at one of my auntie's place. She lived alone in a big mansion on a property west of Brisbane. Her husband died in the early 90s I think. I don't know what he looked like. But I know what I saw. I was walking down a hallway, down a short flight of stairs and just as I rounded the bend the furtherest wing of the house, from the bathroom door he emerged, crossing straight across the hall to study (incidentally, his old one, filled with a lot of his stuff still). As he crossed the hallway he slowed and looked straight at me. We made eye contact and maintained it while continued into the study. At which point, I royally fucking shat myself and pissbolted as fast as I could back to the main lounge area where everyone was watching The Bodyguard...strangely enough nobody asked me why I came bolting in, with heart racing so hard it felt like it would explode from my chest, and not saying a word, for about 15 mins....and all they asked, where've you been? WHERE HAVE I BEEN!!!!???? I told them (my sisters and cousin) and after about 20 minutes convinced them to come check it out with me (no idea where the parents were that day). We eventually went down there but saw nothing.

My background is in science (admittedly, it's environmental science). But to this day, whenever someone asks me if I believe in ghosts, or spirits, or whatever. I say yes. I don't know how it's possible. But yes. Because I know what I saw.

Also...

There's been a lot of talk for years in Australia regarding panthers, or at least feral cats so large that they have to panther/mountain lion genes in them, particularly in central Vic highlands, and the Blue Mountains, and a few other places. But those places in particular because when you see a map of the location of sightings, they're heavily concentrated in about 3 or 4 regions.

Anywho, I always thought that it certainly seemed possible, given that all these farmers can't be wrong. One day last year I saw a news story with a farmer who said recently they'd been finding sheep that had been killed quite cleanly by some large clawed animal (as opposed to wild dogs, which do a messy, somewhat unplanned job...kinda like comparing Jean Reno from The Professional with John Mclane Die Hard 4)....More to the point, the parts of the sheep that had been eaten were not the parts dogs go for. Even more worrying was that he found a handful of sheep that appeared to have just been killed for boredom or pleasure, as they weren't torn open or anything, but their throats had been crushed by jawbite. I brought this story up with my old housemate who is from Ballarat and said "whaddya reckon, true or false?"...

Without pausing he said, 100% true. I says "oh yeah, why so sure?" "Because I've seen one". Long story short, he grew up on a property on the edge of a state forest outside of ballarat. And had heard from various farmers over the years about sightings and attacks on livestock. So many that every year groups of amateur and professional hunters would come from other parts of Vicco and interstate to enter the forest via his property. There were a few sightings, some hair tufts and some paw prints seen, but no success as yet, or bones. The hunters were adamant that the cats exist because back when the US military was stationed in Victoria, one of the mascots (I think it's the Marines') is a cougar and they had a bunch of live ones with them. Well, war's over so they're all shipping out but US quarantine says you can't bring the cougars so destroy them. The story goes that a bunch of them could bring themselves to do it so they snuck the cougars our into some State forest and just let them go.

One year in particular they heard that there'd been an attack on some guys livestock and went round to the blokes place. Something big had attacked a cow. Something big enough to jump onto it's hind quarters and leave big deep claw marks on either side of the cows body and a bite mark on its hips. IN a manner just like lions do when they jump up on the back of a wilderbeest.

The icing on the cake was still to come.

A few months later, my mate got up pre-dawn to go milk the cows. He couldn't get his older brother outta bed so figured he'd just get things going till Joel joined him. He went out the back screendoor, and just about to step down from the verandah onto the road that ran downhill passed the house, passed the milking sheds, ending at the last paddock before the forest, when he heard a low growl, and looking straight at him was a very big, long dark cat walking down the road towards the forest. He said it was about 2 feet high at the shoulder, but very fucking long, with a massive tail, just like a slightly smaller version of a mountain lion. He froze and backed up into the house, got behind the screen door and yelled for his brother. The cat picked up its pace and continued down the road. By the time Joel got to the door and they grabbed a cricket bat and a knife and went to see if they could still see it. They wanted to get the rifles and go after it, but they were kept locked up in the machinery shed, which was right down where the cat went.

Sooooo, after all that, to answer your question Wellymon, have I ever seen a yowie etc? No. Do I think it's possible that they're out there? Certainly.

Also, re. technologically advanced life visiting Earth. I don't just think it's possible, I believe it almost certainly happens. 200 billion stars just in the milkyway, with up to a 100 billion solar systems, and you're telling me that life hasn't advanced technologically much more than we have? The mathematics are in favour. If the mass extinction during the Permian didn't occur, and none of the others since, how advanced would life be today?

davetherave, 1410083155

wellymon, i may be able to explain your monster. The strong sulphur smell is common to both possums and fruit bats when mating, especially around certain blossoming trees. See if certain trees are flowering or fruiting as these trees attract bats, possums and other animals who all leave marks (urine/faeces) on the tree and combined with acidic nature of fruit or blossom, it absolutely reaks, especially around mating season. They can also make a racket at night and it also attracts other species who feed on whats dropped.
I spent alot of time wandering around Cape York with my dad, elders and by myself and have seen some very large dogs, cats and strange lights and sights. There are crossbreeds living in the bush and light formations can be gas or mineral related or electromagnetic- seen lots when solar flares erupt. But have seen most UFO's around big energy spots like ex volcanoes and large bodies of water and large mineral deposits that have an electrical charge. Seen heaps at Taupo in NZ and here especially at Mt Warning. I observe these lights circling or hovering the areas, then fly in a straight line across the water before they then take off at enormous speed. Seems like they tap into energy source, amp it up using water, then off they go.
Nice to know there are still things unknown.

mitchvg, 1410090308
If the mass extinction during the Permian didn't occur, and none of the others since, how advanced would life be today?
Arguably less... mass speciation occurs after mass extinctions.

To be fair though I agree with your sentiment. From a statistical point of view, it'd be silly to rule it out.

davetherave, 1410107286

Wellymon, Some Native Americans believed that Sasquatch, the hairy one, was a shamanic messenger between worlds, especially healing. Hence it will disappear if it knows you are trying to catch it. Your photo shows tee- pee, branch cut by knife? Sulphur is very important to the human body, maybe it has been alerting that there is a health issue that sulphur can assist-MSM? Stranger things have happened.

wellymon, 1410154825

Mowgli and Dave tahnks for your input, much appreciated, unlike Potty Mouth :)

Mowgli as regards to Panthers, yes they are out there smilar in my thoughts to the Yowie as to being so stealth.
My brother inlaw has witnessed on two seperated occassions a 2Panthers in the Hinterland on the Gold Coast up around the Hinze Dam, Once fly fishing and the other mountain biking. Both in the last 6-8 years.
My wife also witnessed one cross the road a couple of years ago not far from our house.

Quote Mowgli"Sooooo, after all that, to answer your question Wellymon, have I ever seen a yowie etc? No. Do I think it's possible that they're out there? Certainly."

Intersting quote Mowgli as yourself coming from a scientific background that is really interesting.

Nice info Dave.
Yeah I'm aware of this for sure.
We have Bats and Possums around our house all the time of the year...?
Mainly the Bats hang out down by our Banana trees, especially the Bananas that I have not bagged. The Bananas are south of my house about 100 meters, when we both smelt this strong smell of sulphur it was blowing NW winds ,hence the smell came from the NW not from the South. The Bat and Possums have been here here for 12 years and have never noticed this smell at all before....?
We have only noticed this strong smell twice and was around the time of a lot of activity in the the bush at night.

Dave like your input champ, its good to hear different theories of thoughts as regards to these Hominids.

Can you fill me in on your Magnetic something a rather that got shot down by the authorities...?

mowgli, 1410177374

re. Aliens, funnily enough a question regarding their making contact was posted on Quora a week or so ago.

The question was:
Hypothetically, if there is intelligent alien life, with the knowledge and means to traverse space and travel to Earth, what would be their reasons for not making contact?
This is assuming that for them, interstellar travel is fast and easy. I'm not looking for an answer about why it would be impossible. I'm interested in your thoughts about why, if this kind of space travel was possible, and extraterrestrials have already found us, they would choose not to contact us.

and two of the top answers, I found, were most noteworthy and relevant here...

mowgli, 1410177422

Answer #1 (the more scientific of the two)

People frequently underestimate just how much more advanced spacefaring aliens might be. I would posit that there are races out there so much more advanced than us that we would be unable to recognize the evidence of their existence, and such evidence would instead appear to us as aspects of the nature of reality itself.

The universe is old enough that aliens might have a multi-billion year head start

The universe is 14 billion years old. There is debate about how recently enough heavy elements were fused to permit the formation of rocky planets harboring the elements required for life as we know it. Some believe that rocky planets with the ingredients for life could have formed as early as 12 billion years ago [1], but let's take a conservative figure of 8 billion years ago.

So planets capable of supporting life existed in the universe 8 billion years ago. Our planet formed 4.6 billion years ago. It took another billion years for the surface to cool and for conditions supporting life to arise. Almost immediately upon the conditions becoming suitable, life arose on our planet 3.6 billion years ago.

Assuming things work roughly the same way on other planets as they have here on Earth, we can reasonably conclude that there are life-harboring planets out there with a 3.4 billion year head start. This means there are planets out there with a head start almost equal to (and perhaps greater than) the entire time life has existed on Earth.

In billions of years, life has evolved such that primitive life forms are incapable of comprehending the more advanced ones

Now consider how different humans are from the first life forms to arise on our planet. Assuming the rate of evolutionary change remains constant, the life forms on a planet with a 3.4 billion year head start would be about as different from our level of complexity as we are from the simplest bacteria.

Bacteria are entirely incapable of comprehending us. In fact, they are not capable of being aware of us at all. They inhabit the same space we do, even living inside our bodies as symbionts, but they are entirely incapable of being aware of us. Consider ants, which are far more complex than bacteria and are separated from us by only 500 million years of evolutionary development. They too inhabit the same space. They can be affected by our actions. They can see us, eat the food we drop on the ground, crawl all over our picnic tables, but they aren't really aware of us. They are entirely incapable of understanding any message we might try to send to them. We have come to understand the chemical signals ants use to communicate with each other, and we can lay down trails for them to follow etc., so basically we humans are able to speak an ant's language, but still we cannot convey to them any concept of what we are because ants lack the brains to comprehend what we are.

So, assuming the pace of evolutionary development is roughly constant, aliens out there would likely be so much more advanced that we would be incapable of comprehending them even if we were living right in front of them on their picnic table. They could even learn to speak our language, as we have with ants, and it wouldn't do much good. That in itself could explain why it seems that no alien intelligences have contacted is. But really, the difference is even more extreme than the rate biological evolutionary development would suggest.

With the advent of technology, the rate of development has increased enormously, such that the complexity gap will be even bigger over the coming few billion years

About 40,000 years ago, humans began to develop technology. Unlike evolutionary development, which advances by a process of random mutation, technological development advances through directed and systematic procedures. As a result, the pace of development has accelerated enormously.

Most people are probably familiar with cargo cults. For those who are not: cargo cults exist on some remote islands in the pacific. During WW2, the American and Japanese militaries established bases on some remote islands that had little to no previous contact with developed civilizations. When the war ended, the bases were abandoned. The natives on the islands had seen technologies that they did not understand. The lights and flying machines appeared to them as magic. Now, some of the people on these islands have adopted rituals that mimic the movements of air traffic controllers and radio operators, hoping that they can call down cargo from the sky.

These people are separated from us by only 8,000 years of development (the time it took from the establishment of the first agricultural civilizations until the present day) and yet they couldn't understand what they saw, and they worship our technology in a religious manner.

8,000 years is far less than an eye-blink on the billions-of-years timescale of the head start that some planets had on ours. It took 8,000 years for us to appear as gods to other humans--how much longer would it take before we would recede from their ability to understand altogether? Maybe 10x that amount of time? But consider also that the rate at which technology is developing is increasing exponentially. Most of the developments that separate us from hunter-gatherers were made in the last 200 years.

So, with technological development beginning 3.4 billion years ahead of ours, the gap between us an alien race would not be just the gap between bacteria and us, but conceivably exponentially greater.

Now consider again the ants. They can't conceive of what we are. All they know are that there are lots of crumbs that tend to show up in a certain area near their anthill. For the ants, this is just a fact of life--"there are lots of crumbs over there usually" is just part of the nature of reality as they perceive it. Similarly, the evidence of alien life is probably all around us, but they are so much more advanced than we are, that the evidence of their existence appears to simply be woven into the nature of reality as we perceive it.

Answer #2 (the funnier, but still enlightening answer)

They're Made out of Meat
by Terry Bisson

"They're made out of meat."

"Meat?"

"Meat. They're made out of meat."

"Meat?"

"There's no doubt about it. We picked up several from different parts of the planet, took them aboard our recon vessels, and probed them all the way through. They're completely meat."

"That's impossible. What about the radio signals? The messages to the stars?"

"They use the radio waves to talk, but the signals don't come from them. The signals come from machines."

"So who made the machines? That's who we want to contact."

"They made the machines. That's what I'm trying to tell you. Meat made the machines."

"That's ridiculous. How can meat make a machine? You're asking me to believe in sentient meat."

"I'm not asking you, I'm telling you. These creatures are the only sentient race in that sector and they're made out of meat."

"Maybe they're like the orfolei. You know, a carbon-based intelligence that goes through a meat stage."

"Nope. They're born meat and they die meat. We studied them for several of their life spans, which didn't take long. Do you have any idea what's the life span of meat?"

"Spare me. Okay, maybe they're only part meat. You know, like the weddilei. A meat head with an electron plasma brain inside."

"Nope. We thought of that, since they do have meat heads, like the weddilei. But I told you, we probed them. They're meat all the way through."

"No brain?"

"Oh, there's a brain all right. It's just that the brain is made out of meat! That's what I've been trying to tell you."

"So ... what does the thinking?"

"You're not understanding, are you? You're refusing to deal with what I'm telling you. The brain does the thinking. The meat."

"Thinking meat! You're asking me to believe in thinking meat!"

"Yes, thinking meat! Conscious meat! Loving meat. Dreaming meat. The meat is the whole deal! Are you beginning to get the picture or do I have to start all over?"

"Omigod. You're serious then. They're made out of meat."

"Thank you. Finally. Yes. They are indeed made out of meat. And they've been trying to get in touch with us for almost a hundred of their years."

"Omigod. So what does this meat have in mind?"

"First it wants to talk to us. Then I imagine it wants to explore the Universe, contact other sentiences, swap ideas and information. The usual."

"We're supposed to talk to meat."

"That's the idea. That's the message they're sending out by radio. 'Hello. Anyone out there. Anybody home.' That sort of thing."

"They actually do talk, then. They use words, ideas, concepts?"

"Oh, yes. Except they do it with meat."

"I thought you just told me they used radio."

"They do, but what do you think is on the radio? Meat sounds. You know how when you slap or flap meat, it makes a noise? They talk by flapping their meat at each other. They can even sing by squirting air through their meat."

"Omigod. Singing meat. This is altogether too much. So what do you advise?"

"Officially or unofficially?"

"Both."

"Officially, we are required to contact, welcome and log in any and all sentient races or multibeings in this quadrant of the Universe, without prejudice, fear or favor. Unofficially, I advise that we erase the records and forget the whole thing."

"I was hoping you would say that."

"It seems harsh, but there is a limit. Do we really want to make contact with meat?"

"I agree one hundred percent. What's there to say? 'Hello, meat. How's it going?' But will this work? How many planets are we dealing with here?"

"Just one. They can travel to other planets in special meat containers, but they can't live on them. And being meat, they can only travel through C space. Which limits them to the speed of light and makes the possibility of their ever making contact pretty slim. Infinitesimal, in fact."

"So we just pretend there's no one home in the Universe."

"That's it."

"Cruel. But you said it yourself, who wants to meet meat? And the ones who have been aboard our vessels, the ones you probed? You're sure they won't remember?"

"They'll be considered crackpots if they do. We went into their heads and smoothed out their meat so that we're just a dream to them."

"A dream to meat! How strangely appropriate, that we should be meat's dream."

"And we marked the entire sector unoccupied."

"Good. Agreed, officially and unofficially. Case closed. Any others? Anyone interesting on that side of the galaxy?"

"Yes, a rather shy but sweet hydrogen core cluster intelligence in a class nine star in G445 zone. Was in contact two galactic rotations ago, wants to be friendly again."

"They always come around."

"And why not? Imagine how unbearably, how unutterably cold the Universe would be if one were all alone ..."

I remember a story my old man told me about his UFO sighting. Back in 2001 I think it was. He was the skiff driver for one of the pilchard boats in Port Lincoln. They were steaming out towards wedge island in the spencer gulf ( half way between the Eyre Peninsula and Yorke Peninsula), it was one of those perfectly still autumn nights. The old man and the skipper were up in the wheelhouse when they noticed a bright light coming up behind them. They stepped outside to check it out, it was coming up on them really fast and as it got closer they realized how big this thing was, he described it as being the size of 5 or six footy fields. It was a saucer like shape and it was covered in bright lights. It was traveling quite low over the water and it headed straight for the boat. It paused over the top of them for a second and then took of towards the horizon and disappeared, he said it almost appeared to dive into the water rather then disappearing over the horizon. Both my old man, the skipper and a decky on the back deck saw it clear as day and they all had no doubt it was extraterrestrial. The skipper is one off those blokes that doesn't believe in those kind of things and even he couldn't deny it.

Crazy stuff. I know it doesn't sound believable, but when you've heard it straight from someone who you know wouldn't make a story up like that, it is. I'm 100% sure aliens are out there.

udo, 1411262236

@Pol Pot, I just googled Gympie times and read that story .......fucking classic that Duffy Guy needs psch help .

Blowin watch out up in Exmouth haha,
This story was just documented not long ago, right at the end of the thread, pretty interesting.

As for Pol Pot, you're a clever man, but you don't surf at all except on the internet ;(
You are the best TROLL for sure. Way more elusive than Myself and Shaun, hahaha
If anyone has read various threads on "YowieHunters" Forum, you will come accross "SCARTS" (Pol Pot), usually debating very hard and aggressively towards non conjecture and fringe subject matter discussion.
Very interesting reading to say the least ;)

udo, 1413679590

Welly, Brisbane courier mail got a story on Yowies.........new clear footage and some samples of course yowie fur ...Dean Harrison yowie researcher labeled the 2 yowie hunters as 'court jesters'.....what do you think ?
Sheepy any tales of yowies in Tassie ?

wellymon, 1413680916

Haha rivalry stuff going on.
I think Ive seen that footage awhile back by the same blokes, unless this is new footage.!
At least they're having a go, all decked out in camouflage with Go Pros on their shoulders.

Was just reading the link I posted above, about more Yowie sightings in Exmouth, only a few months ago.

Jeez, not too many places for a Yowie to hide at Exmouth, Welly.

Maybe in the back room at the Potshot, it can get pretty dark in there.

wellymon, 1420271464

Blowin you would be surprised for sure.
Since reading the article on Yowie Hunters, I myself was amazed...!
But to actually fly over inland of Exmouth in a helicopter to work and back, you would be surprised as to how many valleys, canyons and ravines there are, ample amount of hiding spaces for some creature like that.
Yeah it had me stumped as well as many other people, but flying over the place there are 100s of canyons and ravines with bush and water....? As well only a few roads in that vast space.
Many of the ravines make there way out to the ocean which could be a great way whilst hiding making the journey, especially at night.
Here is the story, right at the end....page 2, keep scrolling down to Ant30166

Hey Welly,
Go to SBS website, then click SBS on demand. The program is on there and you can re-watch it again.

The show is about Bigfoot/Sasquach

wellymon, 1427956453

Cheers GONAD-Man, much appreciated;)
Will have a little look, I do find some of the Yankee stuff is a little over exaggerated tho hehe.

Has any of you surfers out there been asking questions around the camp fire/pub lately to any yocals about the Hairy One???

I'm not sure if anyone mentioned it already but have you thought about installing CCTV and pirs around under the eaves? Might see something sometime. Pirs proximity infra red detects heat of bodies and triggers cameras. Pretty easy to install. You would need infra red and night vision cameras though.

Nah not up these ways Ash;

Down south involving the km's of new freeway and fencing which IMO has blocked their original access.
They found prints past the damaged fence, six toes???????

http://www.yowiehunters.net/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=5078

It is interesting as I drove down to Sydney and back a few weeks back and there is a vast amount of new freeway and fences being built.
Lots of construction zone road works etc.

Been getting many waves Ash!

asharper001, 1450306547

Appears that the fences won't hold them back Welly, judging by distortion in that cyclone fence.

Not many waves mate. Getting fussier as I get older. Go for quality more than quantity these days and driving further afield to get a few by myself. Hope you are getting a few yourself.

wellymon, 1455597136

Andy M and Ash(Zens Bro), here is some reading as of late that I have been documenting in full bore.

I need to take a break as it's really got to me somewhat, and is taking a lot of my time up, as well my mine???

Probably need some of Ben's tech camera skills up here, they would not go a miss;) Got any old camera's Ben??? hahhaha.

Anyways a little reading here, for all the skeptics out there in the surfing world;)

Cheers Wellymon, thanks for sharing. An interesting read there. Seems your local hairy neighbour (the yowie, not your human one) is starting to set boundaries for you.

Was also thinking the same thing as Simba. First couple of photo's definitely have a touch of the Predator Yowie. The outline is pretty amazing.

Yeap for sure Ash,
He/she was not happy the other night, went down and moved some of the tree markings, during the day with my wife.?
That night there was such aggressive tree knocking that I've never heard before, like something was bashing a huge branch into a solid tree, repeatedly for 8-9 times.
Not just like the usual 2-3 quiet knocks, saying hey I'm over here.

Anyways not gonna rattle on, it's put here for those who are interested.

Cheers Ash, hope your getting some waves !

No need to move Simba.
Why would I 20 mins from BH!

Why sell it?
I would just like to prove to science, that they exist, prove to the average Australian that they have no idea what's in their own backyard so to speak. Do you live in the bush or on the coast Simba? Do you walk in this huge bush of yours?

I know what koalas sound like, have done for 14 years.

These Hominids are the ultimate bushman, move silent, move very fast haha, as 4 witnesses have said.

IMO when someone witnesses these creatures, they are so gobsmacked to say the least, the eyeball probably can't comprehend what is before it!
Tell me if you yourself could pull your IPhone out in 4 seconds from your jeans, turn it on and zoom in to a creature moving faster than Mick Doohan across a paddock and take a photo?
Have a go Simba, it takes practice;)

But I warn you Mr Dorian be careful what you ask for, as an arrow would probably feel like a tick to these things, haha.

"I'm going to be that guy, skeptic or realist?

I'm not calling you a liar but it probably has another explanation and I don't believe it was a Yowie"

truebluebasher, 1473233479

wellymon....True that Big Swamp is hotspot for Paranormal & Big Scrub as paranormal hub long before out time. Let's start in dreamtime.... re; interview with Gerry Bostock(Late) or Stella Wheildon's star lore even ABC Cleverman series all deal with Mt Warning magic . Note Aboriginal dreaming cannot be worded. Also note 500 more diverse human species thrived in oz before our landing. Alcheringa is a water fall starcase to Heavenly Beings from Pleiades that reflected their life onto earth originating in Australia. Rainbows refractions are spirits playing/travelling off water . Mob are living ancestors that travelled dreamtime world over need be returning wiser(better DNA is confirming first people outta here.. story). Nguthungulli sees all and created all from eastern most point(Julian rocks) - where all forest/sea- life ocean currents conjoin. Storylines link Local warriors represented as mountainous warriors catching clouds or swimming ocean wide and each other headland represents animal specific to geographical or spritual timelines. Between held like vines the songlines needed to link animal, people, water and food.(Again i'm simplifying on purpose, song is not permitted to be sung by me). Move on to The Elementals or humanoids we speak of here, are considered very much real. Starting with Big hairys the Yowie (Dulaghal) beings of the Great Divide.First local white explorers spoke of and to lone giant aboriginal hermaphrodite and lone women being tallest of all people.Note yowie is not unusual as all folk from rich fertile Tweed to Fraser Coast grew tallest in the land...(like today home to natural athletes/ gold medal ratio etc). Onto Little hairys (greelagogs!-differs by tribe) leprechauns or Loki .Once ruled the Mt Warning caves by traversing lava tubes and lava vents and subterrainean vents darting in and out stealing kidz and what have ya from mountain top holes or guarding sea caves like Galiwus and his black dog of Pooningbah. These (Fingal caves)and Mt Warning cave system were destroyed even rocked up and silted in many places.Little hairys or Clever people were all powerful as Weather forecasters and healers.Their magic was feared by all. Onto Albino tribes with white skin and blue eyes.(Wandjina) from central Australia are considered central to creation spirit almost alien like .Again like little hairys were feared as being powerful. Bunyip time-First accounts here of Aboriginals fear of lagoons at night, indeed The Kirra bunyip took a victim. Burley bunyip scared all to drain watering hole.Miami Bunyip haunted by Merrimac Bunyip frightening the Reedy Creek Bunyip petrified of Mudgeeraba Bunyip making way for Nerang or even Coomera Bunyip. One thing for sure Big Swamp was rife with the Bunyip. Thru years bunyip products, stores, many creeks, street or brooks. Our house backed onto open Bunyip st drain where creature lurked.Down off West Burleigh road, from boys tree house you'd hear or spot bunyip or late at night from Drive -in you'd hear the boom boom boom. UFO's- Again my neighbours(Mrs Miaskowski started GC UFO club 1965 up Short St on Burleigh Point) Later on in 1970's Burleigh Drive -in prematurely projected colour porn flix into Pleiadians star system signal transmitted as far as Ormicron Persei 8 .... Bingo! Soon whole galaxy were orbiting screen along side interstate truckers. Many mums worked in Cafeteria we kids sat in drive -in car every night looking at sky or same movie listening for Bunyip in Bunyip St swampland.Fact was 1970's more people spent more time OUTSIDE each week in darker night than anytime since. Drive -in naturally creating a UFO HOTSPOT, often screams of UFO were replied with' I've seen heaps already'. Soon on none had not seen one at least one. Yes the big swamp Hotspot lured in the big guns Reedy Creek Observatory awarded for near earth objects sightings also famous for The Beatles asteroid belt. Today Gold Coast remains as OZ UFO Hotspot ...Lets zoom in ....higher up at 'metro' yowie's secret lair @ Springbrook Mountain Extraterrestrial Response Force. You might find answers there. OK so why metro yowie, you ask? I branded him Metro' from cheap Metropolitan Permanent Building Society ruler used to measure yowie's footprint cast by Andre Clayden 1998 .Whoops stuck my foot in it ! Seriously I have a photo of Springbrook Yowie from around same time and place, no Joke, Andre knows it's safer to guard that secret! Most hideous thing I've seen. Hooroo! Maybe next time! Oh one last thing. 'The Pacific hwy Yatala UFO last flight took off from Fantasyland 02/05/1990. Mr Sid Whitby of Pimpama Smash paid $500 to salvage flying saucer and intends to make it the family's home in Tiaro Shire Council Gympie by Stardate 1992 ?

Always find these stories so interesting. Love hearing them and naturally I'm a sceptic of a lot of them, but part of me really hopes some of them are true! I have no doubt there are things out there we have not discovered or have answers for. Ghosts? aliens? yowies? Who knows what is out there and what is true. Anyone else with stories share because I enjoyed reading them all and judging them how I see haha

wellymon, 1473495134

I observed one last friday 0830, through binoculars for 2 mins, down the back of my section.
Huge breakthrough for us.

In the process of lending a FLIR H series video and plot watcher cameras.

All the sceptics out there, well, they are real.

How can you be so harsh and certain they dont exist? The idea of germs and Louis Pasteur were laughed at back in 1800's.
Who knows what we will still discover in proof in the future.

Noah was also laughed at but that story seems a bit more far fetched than Yowies.
