Trotsky and Zinoviev were both later killed themselves by the dictatorship they had helped establish.
Some have attempted to claim that the Kronstadt sailors in 1921 were mostly different individuals to those in 1917, however detailed research by researchers like Israel Getzler showed that the make-up of the garrison was overwhelmingly the same.
A similar rebellion also took place in Ukraine, in favour of control by workers and peasants themselves, rather than Party bureaucrats, which was also eventually crushed by the Red Army."

Hi Cockee. I am taking what Richard Flanagan says as an opinion. I am seeing what he wrote here in my country. I have tried to say these types of things to folks i know in my little world. As in, 'your new line of thinking does not end well.' Cuz i can see it playing out here as Flanagan describes. He puts it pretty well. I rarely, if ever, get through to them, and have mostly given up trying. I called them Feverish, which is disappointing to me cuz i don't like to denigrate, but it is accurate. As revealed history, this is close to the truth as we are going to read.
As for forecasts on the LNPs demise, I don’t know. LNP are the zombie apocalypse, with the conflicted msm breathing new life into the corpse when surely you think they will never rise again.
Under Dutton it is hard to imagine them regaining anything close to ‘the centre’, but that doesn’t mean we’ve seen the last of them. But it is a possibility. The rightward parties have broken up twice before in the 20th century in circumstances similar, politically speaking.
Hard to imagine less than 6 years of non-LNP government though, and that is worth rejoicing. Gotta take those wins when you can.
