There's even a currawong that shits purple berries over my drying wetsuits in nesting season, cheeky bugger...

Obviously Vic Govt will first turn to these contractors to sound out Earthquakes....(Who else!)
Whether Seismic crews were cautious or not...they certainly know more about the Quakes than most!
Ocean surveys show 6kms deep & Alps Surveys show 80kms deep...reckon that 'd shake this up a bit!

Intra plate quake are strike slip faults, a release of elastic strain. TBB - go down the rabbit hole of Youngs Modulus, nothing else. I've been part of shallow 3D seismic surveys (<500m) and I can do farts bigger than the detonations required to propagate detectable seismic waves for a study. I cant speak for any of the surveys in Vic though.
There is a seismograph 50km inland from the coast.
I asked a GA specialist doing maintenance...whats that low pulsing line was on the bottom of the seismograph scroll print readout. He said "it was ocean waves hitting the coastline"
That's the biggest and only third earthquake I've felt.
In Sydney it was a slow wobble for 15s or maybe 20s and the feeling from the desk was like being wobbly and dizzy before fainting. After about 10s I checked the water on the desk and saw it moving and it clicked.
I had reports of it felt very strong on the peninsula down in Melbourne, Adelaide and even Tasmania.
