Old Shane Stedman Twinny

I was recently gifted this Shane Standard and was hoping someone could fill in some details for me as the construction looks peculiar.
At first glance it appears to have no stringer, but due to a small amount of damage in the tail I see that there is some timber protruding.

Were these boards made with a stringer that goes around the rail, or is there a large flat stringer parallel with the deck?
What year would this have been made? I assume late 60's - early 70's, as the gentleman that gave it to me (my ex-father-in-law) stopped surfing in the late 70s.
The tail is, for want of a better description, wedged from a really thick deck. Were these boards good to ride?
This one, although not in perfect condition and weighing a tonne, has only minor damage that can be easily fixed ... I will repair it and take it out for at least one or two paddles.

I hope these images load, I have not tried to post images before.

Looks like images did not load, but the links appear to work.
I noticed that I was supposed to remove the spaces, but tried again and it just posted an empty comment for me.

Awesome thank you. Looks like definitely 70 - 71.
This site is great! I have also been able to look at the history of the Scott Dillon mal that he gave me many years ago. That one was impossible for me to turn; pick a direction, paddle, and hope.
