Trump refuses to pay border guards until they build his border wall.
Border has never been as vulnerable as right now due to President's Shutdown.
Clearly Border Guards & security least concern Trump so why cry over The Wall?
Not paying staff is Trump's Signature now a stain on the Presidency. Sack him!

I think if the tradies are funding negatively geared property than they wouldn't be tax dodgers. They would be declaring all their income so that they can write it off against their property losses. People who get paid in cash and don't declare it are tax dodgers. India abolished large denomination bank notes to force people out of the cash economy. I reckon our government should do the same. Who needs large amounts of cash apart from tax dodgers and criminals? Also I reckon the main reason the Australian economy is in good shape (compared to the rest of the world) is due more to the fact that Australia is so rich in natural resources rather than good management from the government,

I saw this in the comments section of The Age on Trump & his wall.

The Democrats ought to pander to Trump's ego as the "great negotiator" and say to him if he gets Mexico to pay 1/2 the cost of the wall they will happily give him the cash for the other 1/2.

The Democrats CHOSE to push Hillary as their representation. Hillary would have spent waaaay more on another war than Trump would spend on the wall he was mandated to build when he was elected. Trump was elected , the Democrats with their war and intent to NOT build a wall weren’t.

Just allow the President to do his job and get back to burying your heads in the sand , Democrats.

Trump would not have had even the slightest chance of getting elected if the Democrats had been doing their jobs. Bit late to be trying to act like you give a fuck about the USA now.

Why not get all those mega wealthy who are millions/billions better off after Trump's tax cuts pay for the wall but wait wouldn't they want the endless stream of cheap labour crossing the boarder?

Worth looking forward to!
"Donald Trump’s longtime lawyer and aide Michael Cohen says he has accepted an invitation from a top House Democrat to testify publicly before Congress next month.

Cohen’s 2017 congressional testimony before the Senate and House intelligence committees led to a guilty plea in November 2018 for lying under oath about Trump’s business dealings in Russia. In the plea, Cohen said: “I made these misstatements to be consistent with Individual 1’s political messaging and out of loyalty to Individual 1.”
Individual 1 was a reference to Trump."

Congressman Steve King, who has represented his rural Iowa district in Washington since 2003, made the remarks in an interview with the New York Times."

Well that would be a second offence. Since he is already going to jail for the first offence presumably he would be looking at an additional, longer sentence if he did it again. It is easy to underestimate the seriousness of this issue. The data he passed on was detailed and allowed the Russians to target the voters most likely to swing in favour of Trump. Personally I think he is lucky not to be charged with treason since it was clearly intended to undermine the integrity of the Presidential election.

I think you are right focus. The Dems and Mueller are both concerned that Trump will try to shut down the investigation so they want to put some of the evidence he has collected on the public record. Testifying in Congress is one way of doing that. Mueller can also include evidence against Trump in indictments against others.

In my opinion anyone ignorant and obnoxious on environmental issues is a fuckwit. Someone in his position that has research and advice provided from NASA amongst others and evidentially the power to try to do something - to then completely ignor the facts and take his stance saying global warming is not true - he should be shot. The entire planet has to bare the consequences of the pig-headed unsubstantiated opinion of one cunt.

However...

This whole wall debate has become so dumb. So so dumb.

And it's the media's fault for presenting a dumb, partisan, dangerously bias picture....again! Keeping the whole debate in realm of the year ten level, today tonigh style, either / or debate. Just where they like it...

Trump burst on the scene, as the joke he is, yelling and blathering about a "big beautiful wall". Even he didn't take himself seriously, knowing he had no chance of winning the election.

But he did win the election.

With his crazy talk symbolism of a "big beautiful wall".

"...Hmm roughly 2000 miles, approximately $25 million per mile that would be $50 billion. A pittance! Hey Blowin lend us a million will ya?"

You're smarter than that blindboy. Even you must know he's not talking about a big beautiful wall monilithic structure from coast to coast. It's about a make up of strategies to address a problem. Many problems, that are all represented by his crude symbolism.

"...It's already illegal to be in the US without authorisation, and by extension illegal to work in the US without authorisation. If US companies are employing ilegal workers then it's obvious where the govt should focus their efforts."

Yep, but the 'progressive' side of the democrats do all they can to make it beyond impossible to address these issues, pushing their own symbolism, based around an open borders dream.

I'm not sure how many traditional democrats share that dream....anymore....currently....or ever, for some. They'd like to talk about immigration, for a host of reasons, but the party ain't listening...again! So the debate remains gutter level, year ten, Wall versus No Wall, polarising poles that are already stretched to the limit.

A just a little bit more balanced than most look at 'the wall'....

The Wall originated on the campaign trail, not as important policy, but as a catch phrase that Trump could throw out when he couldn't remember what he was supposed to be saying. So the wall debate was dumb from the start because it wasn't even a real idea, it was a bit of filler that caught on so he was stuck with it. You cannot manufacture an intelligent debate about a non-idea, an accidental bit of baggage. Year 10, that's insulting ...... to year 10 students. Trump's language is Primary level at best.

As I said, the wall is symbolism. Crude symbolism to break through some big barriers. The democrats have just denied there's any debate to be had.

Yep it's campaign baggage. And it's ridiculous, morphed into craziness. But the democrats have their own baggage too, but they don't even know it, or so it seems...

Yep guliano is trump's lawyer, but that doesn't change that the statement is true blindboy.

So long. So many resources. Still not much.

Risk Blowin! The concept of risk. You know, the POSSIBILITY, that something might happen. If you drive a car with poor brakes your RISK of killing yourself or someone else increases. It might not happen, but it is a risk worth avoiding. When it comes to nuclear war the only acceptable level of risk is zero. That might be currently unattainable but that cannot justify that bloated man child actively increasing it as he did particularly in his early insults to North Korea. There is only one reason that North Korea would use nuclear weapons and that is if they believe that a nuclear attack from the US was about to occur. Trump came way too close to convincing them that was the case, for what? To boost his infantile ego. And now, for all his posturing with the Korean leaders, where are we? Back to square one. North Korea still has its nukes and has never had the slightest intention of relinquishing them unless the US did also. So what did nappy boy actually achieve? Not a damn thing except increasing the risk of nuclear war...... and some people are stupid enough to think that he does not continue to be a threat to world peace. He does and will continue to be so.

Unsubstantiated? You have to be kidding but then again what does the deeply considered opinion of the world’s nuclear scientists, with access to all the information, mean compared to the insights of Blowin The Great. Mate wake up to yourself, your efforts are becoming embarrassing.

“The greatest risks last year arose in the nuclear realm. North Korea’s nuclear weapons program made remarkable progress in 2017, increasing risks to North Korea itself, other countries in the region, and the United States. Hyperbolic rhetoric and provocative actions by both sides have increased the possibility of nuclear war by accident or miscalculation.”

“But there has also been a breakdown in the international order that has been dangerously exacerbated by recent US actions. In 2017,the United States backed away from its long- standing leadership role in the world, reducing its commitment to seek common ground and undermining the overall effort toward solving pressing global governance challenges. Neither allies nor adversaries have been able to reliably predict US actions—or understand when US pronouncements are real, and when they are mere rhetoric. International diplomacy has been reduced to name-calling, giving it a surrealistic sense of unreality that makes the world security situation ever more threatening.”
