I Focus you said:
"Trump is a politician not a private citizen, whats with the all gooey you cannot level fair criticism at Trump?

Heaven forbid that anyone uses Trumps modus operandi of attack, lies, total BS and some."

Trump's modus operandi is polarising. Are you suggesting that it's OK to use his MO or saying its a bad thing? I'm not sure. Why not pull people up on both the left and right for resorting to using polarising language?

Is it possible to level fair criticism without appealing to the polarising language? I say yes.

I can see the same whataboutism creating the rift. Its everyone's responsibility to uphold civility so that a productive dialog can be had.

Sharkman I hear you about America changing. I've been over there a few times over the last 18 months and I haven't noticed any hostility personally, but the passion on each person's own respective 'side' (like or hate Tump) is significant once someone opens up and is comfortable in voicing their opinion.

had a very interesting conversation with an Uber driver from Russia while I was in Denver...

I'm actually agreeing with u blob. I think you do have "... a perfectly reasonable conservative worldview."

Nothing wrong with that...in my book...

And, yep I do like a little post modernist fairy garden, it's where I find hope, much like your own fairy garden...

The left have wandered too far into the fairy garden for most people, this is across a swathe of social issues. That's pretty obvious to me, a somewhat natural result of the growing class divide....from my bias perspective that is...

They simply failed to take the people with them. A pretty major fail if you think you're the party of the people.

Interesting to compare whatthefuckjusthappenedtoday with Breibart.

One of them presents facts as they are,
The other attempts to highlight A perspective, but true motive is to make money, promote division, and attack any one who disagrees with THEIR narrow point of view. I mean how full on are their ads on the site (and their promoters). It comes across to me as one big computer virus generator. I had a look at it a few times but have well and truly concluded that it's more of the same.

I think we have come a long way with peoples rights in society. I focus sounds like he went through what I did as a kid with dad coming home pissed and a swinging at everyone. Regarding Trump, its funny to watch him stare off the Chinese and win, with a respectful grin at him from the Chinese president. Trade will be better for Americans and the border thing will stop them going broke as well. He reminds me of Pauline Hanson, they don't seem very bright but maybe the solutions are obvious and simple ones sometimes like, hey lets make stuff here and stop importing everything...and hey lets stop giving centrelink to the whole world. I also think that the rise in homosexual behaviour is a modern day lust thing. Before the collapse of many societies long before ours, this behaviour became common as a society became richer more decadent and more bored with the norm. 30 years ago I knew one or two gays and now everywhere I look they seem to be falling out of trees and becoming more militant and aggressive boasting their sexuality which I don't want to hear about and don't give a stuff about. Just go home and do it and don't make a big deal about it. My advice is live clean, live natural, marry a nice girl and have some babies, have a great family life and try and see the good in everyone and give them a chance. Plant some trees, grow a garden,Take an interest in the big picture, also write to politicians if you have good ideas to make your country a better place rather that criticize them. If you had a million dollars to invest and had to give it to one of our politicians to look after it ,who would it be? Who would you trust most with it? The answer is the one you should vote for, for your country's sake.

"Regarding Trump, its funny to watch him stare off the Chinese and win, with a respectful grin at him from the Chinese president."

I agree with the heavy pressure on China to cooperate on IP laws. I think it should be a multilateral push from Capitalist nations given the ideological difference between Capitalism where Individual achievement is awarded and recognised, compared to the Communist Ideology where the state controls IP and therefore the collective IP must be shared to progress (which, in my own view, stagnates productivity).

I don't think its enough for just the US alone to be applying pressure via the trade war so I don't get the feeling that any real winning is happening. Xi may well be smiling respectfully with the satisfaction of knowing that China will win in the long run (unless they concede to accept international IP laws). With China's present-day arrangement where they are allowed to compete in the global market while not observing a fundamental rule, they are tilting the game in their favor.

But you're dead right. And many from many political persuasions have made the same point.

They just don't play by the rules. Their system facilities a gross advantage that cannot possibly be described as 'free trade" by any stretch of the term.

Free trade needs to be fair trade or the whole system is bogus.

A few other 'fair trade' influences could only be a positive too!!

I am afraid there was no substance To Trumps claims of any real deals done at the G20.....the stock market reflected that today , fell 800 points...

The USA is now looking at much higher prices for goods , such as steel and aluminium which is part of the reason GM have to shut down plants in the USA costing 15000 jobs.......1 in 10 Co's in the USA now have to raise their prices because of the new tariffs , which means you will get the same products at much higher prices, which in turn means less buying power , and will really affect low income earners !

It seems very few politicians are overly worried about debt.
In Australia, Alan Jones is probably the loudest voice for fiscal responsibility.
Labor wasted John Howard's financial legacy and voters don't want to know about reduced spending.
