Tomorrow will remain tiny, but we've got an upgrade in the N'ly windswell due across our coast on Friday and Saturday.

A strong mid-latitude front is pushing in from the west and this will squeeze a strong high in the Tasman Sea, with a less than favourably aligned but strong fetch of N'ly winds extending from the southern NSW coast down to us through Friday.

This fetch will reach a peak in intensity Friday morning, easing temporarily as a front clips us and slips to the south-east, followed by a secondary intensification on Saturday morning, slipping away to the east into the afternoon.

With this we'll see an initial spike in N/NE windswell through Friday midday/early afternoon to 2ft to maybe 3ft across north swell magnets.

Winds won't be ideal and gusty out of the N/NW all day, favouring more open beaches which will be smaller.

The re-intensification of the fetch Saturday looks to keep the swell up around 3ft, if not a touch bigger and we're expected to see early N/NW winds, shifting W'ly mid-morning with the change and light S'ly into the afternoon.

This will create fun waves across north-east magnets, with the swell easing slowly later in the day, but more so into Sunday from 1-2ft.

Beyond this there's nothing too major on the cards, so check back here Friday for any changes to Saturday's expected size and winds.
