Best Days: Desperate surfers Friday morning at north swell magnets

Recap

Fun waves the last couple of days with easing levels of E'ly swell and favourable winds, but tomorrow it will be gone.

Today’s Forecaster Notes are brought to you by Rip Curl

This week and weekend (Jun 7 - 10)

Our small N/NE windswelll for the end of the week is still on track with a fetch of strong N'ly winds due to develop down the coast tomorrow, strengthening into the evening before shifting away from us early Friday morning.

The N'ly direction isn't ideal at all and with this we're not expected to see much size at all with maybe 1-1.5ft waves tomorrow, easing quickly from 1-2ft early Friday with a gusty NW change.

From here we're looking at tiny surf though with some more promising developments on the cards for next week.

A weak surface trough deepening in the central Tasman Sea is expected to aim a fetch of strong E/NE winds through our swell window early next week, though not to the strength of the last system. We'll see some fun E/NE swell produced though, building Tuesday and holding Wednesday with maybe a further pulse on Thursday, but we'll review this Friday.
