Awesome.. he get's ferried around on a Jet Ski, picks out all the best waves and snakes everyone else. What a hero....

As one of the surfing web world’s more ethical players, can Swellnet please watermark this and similar footage of Gold Coast oligarchs with “JET SKI ASSIST” or “JET SKI THEFT”

Yeah can’t agree more as if these guys don’t get enough waves they have to snake people to further inflate there massive egos check yourself before you wreck yourself incidentally a lot of fellow surfers think you suck

Unfortunately Nelson, they don't care what you think.
We recreation becomes a job I guess.....*all jet skis aside* Personally I feel some of those waves should only be ridden by pro's or expert surfers.
Kirra at that size is super dangerous . People should really know there boundaries before paddling out...........EXPERTS ONLY PEOPLE !

Partly dangerous because of all the jetskis buzzing around I'd reckon

Interesting concept! What about Pipe, cloudbreak etc. etc.
You got the balls, take the fall! Or take the glory. Don't know if you don't go blah blah blah.
Still clearly remember as a grom at 13 being called into a set at Cresent by a mate's dad, I told everyone it was 10ft but was probably barely 5. Shat myself almost.
Never forgot that wave and that made me paddle for a few more over the years that will never be forgotten.
It is not bravado or an ego thing just sometimes you push your limits and it is glorious. Other times you go home wounded and wishing you had let that one go.
Either way you end up shaking with adrenaline.

That’s ridiculous ld. ( If you’re serious)
I’m not a pro and absolutely miles off an
Expert but I’d be all over that setup in a flash. Yeah I won’t make every tube but fuck who cares

Exactly! But maybe now i've been relegated to the experts category ha ha, as i surely wouldn't
be sitting on the sidelines watching! But at 57 i certainly work on the fitness/strength aspect to be able to hold my own on days like this.

See your point goofy,
It's just difficult to watch a lot of waves get blown . Or worse watch a bunch of shoulder hoppers clogging up the line up , then fade competant surfers who could make the section.
I have experienced this first hand at kirra. Not fun at all.

No way - thats the beautifal thing about surfing, there is no selection criteria or grading. Fundamentally its you and the wave and your choice. As long as I'm only putting myself at risk its all go I say.

Good for you Mr Mick.
That's exactly what you have to do to be prepared for when the swell hits like this.
I always have respect for people who keep fit and keep going.

Even if his name is Joel Parkinson, he still had no right to make it over the second foamball. That thing was a cement mixer. *standing ovation*

Putting the whole jests assist thing aside for a moment it's hard to think of many other surfers on the Gold Coast who would have made those barrels.

Michael Peterson would not have toad in though....
