Skeleton Key - video

It's been a long time between drinks, as the saying goes. After a solid run of swells in winter 2015, Namibia's swell window remained shut for much of 2016 save the odd marginal session. However, just as the seasons ticked over this year a deep and well-aligned swell impacted the Skeleton Coast and for the first time in many months the sand at Donkey Bay got churned.

A bunch of South Africans plus Cory Lopez, Oliver Kurtz, Brett Barley, Luke Hynd, and Natxo Gonzalez - who all star in this clip - made the trip.

This film goes for eight-something minutes. It's a nice edit, very few slow moments, good selection of rides etc, however if you're time poor then jump to 6:10 where the best shots lie. Dig the part where the soundtrack ends and all that can be heard is the surfer huffing like Darth Vader as the sections loom and loom.
