Man , So cool ,
I shit myself surfing there and yet there's a medical kit and wifi in a charter boat 50 m away , I can't imagine doing it by myself .
I can hear your kids now, Dad , why didn't you buy the whole place ...haha
Good to see the local is doing well out of it tho.

Bit of a kitschy vid but cool to see the man behind the story. Cool to see him still stoked and surfing too.

Agree, too full on and would cause an epileptic to have an episode. Could of laid off the big bold text and cuts to different graphics every second or so.

Take it from me, that was full on enough...3/4 the way through I had to stop and have a rest for 10 minutes. Started to make my head wig out and wanna punch the screen.

Zsurfnut - You had Wifi on your boat ? Holy shit. I was lucky if the skipper was wearing pants each day.

I normally don't enjoy "American VoiceOver Guy".

However, now that the Lances legendary story has been very well explained to the yanks, they might start referring to as Lance's instead of HT's.

Lance's was where I probably came closest to drowning. I hooked my leg rope on the surgeon's table so that I could just get a gulp of air between waves. There was only a few centimetres in it. If it had hooked a little lower I probably would have drowned. If you have ever been in a similar situation you will know how difficult it is to release the leg rope strap. There were only a couple of others out and none of them had noticed what was happening. Luckily the strap broke away from the rope after a few minutes.

Heavy situation BB. I had the same thing happen at G'Land but couldn't reach the surface. The current heading down the point kept pulling me under and away from the surface. A second wave rolled overhead while I struggled to reach down and grab the strap. Fortunately the leggy broke and washed me in. Hit the camp to find my room-mate, One Ball Jim from Morro Beach, took an even worse licking. It was an eventful day.

I'll probably get mercilessly ridiculed, but why do they call him 'One Ball'?

No ridicule. Jim shared the same testicle count as Hitler.

Thought so, but had to check.

Sounds pretty frightening Stu, how long do you reckon you were under for? Same thing happened to a guy I was sharing a room with there too. He didn't surf again for the last couple of days of his stay it rattled him that much

Interesting that Lance and his sons surf in rubber. They must know something about the place.

I've always been a slow learner Stu, I just went and put a new leggy on and paddled back out. It was only later, when I thought about it, that I realised how much danger I had been in.

I missioned out to Lance's Right back in 1997 solo. Took the public ferry to Sioban on eastern side of Sipora and then chartered a canoe with outboard for the 1 1/2 ride to Lance's. Stayed with a family who looked after the christian church there for a week. Scored big time and had countless barrels by myself. Remember two charter boats turning up for 1 day each, the Arymthea and the Indies Trader 2. Definitely remember how shallow it was but the thing that nearly got me was some quicksand on the walk from the village to the wave. Lost both of my thongs but managed to lever myself out with my board.

Just fun and games for gorillaboy.
