The "TRUE WETSUITS" includes a jacket, pants, a shirt, and a tie, and is priced at 300,000 Japanese yen (excluding tax). It will be delivered in approximately two months.

For details, please see the product summary and sales explanation below and watch the product explanation movie.

-- Product Outline --

QUIKSILVER, Inc., started in 1969 as a board shorts company, has become one of the world's leading outdoor sports lifestyle companies. Its authentic roots and heritage in surf are supported by surfers around the world.

The "TRUE WETSUITS" is not only an authentic, high quality wetsuit, but also a "suits" that can be worn on business occasions.

- STYLE

The "TRUE WETSUITS" is a wetsuit that can be comfortably worn for various water sports.

The "TRUE WETSUITS" is available with three styles - black, navy, and tuxedo, that is appropriate even for business occasions after surfing. The "black" and "navy" models feature a single breasted two-button jacket that can be worn casually.

- JACKET & PANTS

The jacket and pants are made of a 2mm super high-stretch jersey neoprene, the same fabric we use to make regular wetsuits.

The parts are joined with glued and blind-stitched seams (GBS), a method specially developed for wetsuit production. The pinholes do not penetrate the fabric to prevent water from coming inside the wetsuit.

The pockets are designed flat to prevent them from catching water while surfing. The breast pockets have been designed specifically for use outside the water. The inside pocket on the left breast of the jacket is designed with a fastener and drain hole, to store any electronic devices in business situations, and the outside pocket on the same breast is designed with a slit and space to carry a handkerchief.

Two antique silver buttons are used on the front of the jacket and plastic dot buttons are used on the cuffs.

The jacket also features side vents to allow a comfortable posture while waiting for waves. The "TRUE WETSUITS" is designed for both business and surfing.

- SHIRT

The shirt has been designed with a dress shirt silhouette and a crisp collar to create a formal impression.

It is made with a recycled 4-way stretch DRYFLIGHT fabric, the same used for our board shorts. DRYFLIGHT was co-developed by QUIKSILVER and 3M for superior water repellency and is SCOTCHGUARD-treated to prevent staining or soiling.

The shirt is made of a fabric designed for surfing and the placket is closed with a fastener to prevent water inflow. It appears formal but is equipped with details that make it suitable for water surfing.

- TIE

Like the jacket, the tie is also made of a 2mm super high-stretch jersey neoprene. Sublimation transfer printing is used to adorn the tie with a delicate design suited for business and party situations.

The fabric is also pressed in a special process to make it thinner and easier to tie.

- ORDER

To ensure that your "TRUE WETSUITS" creates a silhouette that fits for both business and party occasions while truly comfortable for surfing, it is only available with order services.

- "TRUE WETSUITS" SPECIAL SITE -

The "TRUE WETSUITS" special site will be created to support the product launch. The site will provide not only the product information, but also the unique and useful information such as connecting the latest wave and weather conditions at world famous points with the exchange rates, to appeal to every surfer and businessperson 24 hours/7days.

- "TRUE WETSUITS" Movie -

Today surfing is a sport as well as culture loved by many. However, the sport becomes more and more difficult to enjoy for the modern businessperson who is leading a busy lifestyle. With the launch of the "TRUE WETSUITS" a short movie was produced to demonstrate how the "TRUE WETSUITS" could be a life changer.

Really don't understand how Quik fits this into their marketing plan.

its obvious a French flavor from the new French CEO......and maybe Quik have decided to hunt down all those businessmen who can surf at lunchtimes and don't have time to change??

Or they finally wanted to alienate the few surfers left who believe QS is a surf brand???

Seems to be pretty quick though for the new CEO to implement.

How about this from January?

"Julien David teams up with Quiksilver to put a fashion spin on surf culture"

His tuxedo trompe-l'oeil wetsuit is a stand out. 'I wanted to have a classy touch in the first season, mixing surf board shorts with tailored jackets. I also did this James Bond-esque tuxedo-inspired wetsuit. I had a 20 person live big band wearing it for the show, kind of a scuba jazz band.'

And the same promo (for the new Julien David colab) was in the Wall Street Journal last December. The caption for the image below was:

"Boardshorts from Julien David Quiksilver, $250, Dover Street Market New York. Right: A wetsuit David describes as ‘somewhere between James Bond and a surfer dude in Malibu.’"

I reckon this is bullshit.

Seriously, who's going to pay $3000 (300,000yen) for a wetsuit like this? Summer is coming up and I couldn't imagine too many people wanting to wear 2mm of neoprene in the office when the Japanese keep their aircon at 26+ deg and it's 30 deg outside with 90% humidity.

This is marketing I reckon. Any salary man in Japan who surfs knows that you can go to Aoki or Aoyama businesswear shop and get a whole outfit, suit, shirt, tie, belt, shoes and socks for $400 for the set. Brand new custom wetsuit tailored to fit , $500 leaving $2100 for a new stick. Plenty enough.

Bollocks if they sell even one and probably less chance to see someone wearing one in the surf.

I'm totally skeptical.

hilarious ....all the designers are in France under Pierre A......looks like wilko has had an effect on Q/s...didn't he have a wetty as a tux??

the market has been wondering what is Q/S's new marketing plan as they got rid of KS and Jack Robinson ......and sacked most of the team........maybe they wouldn't wear a Tux???

That would be sweet as I've been hinting to the wife recently that I'm keen for a new board.

I'm back in Oz in October and am thinking of buying one off the rack or bringing back over a quad I had made for me last time but didn't get to ride.

But if you're going to be here......

I would love one of your boards. Local ripper has one of yours here. Ex pro named .Shigeru. Craig, I introduced him to you when we ckecked that spot in Tsunami-ville. Remember?

Purely a marketing ploy - so everyone talks about Quickie. Seems to be working :)))

I can kinda understand the 'get everyone talking' angle, 'cos you're right, lots of people are talking about them. But surely that comes with a corollary: people should be saying good things.

You'd have to call the Quiksilver marketing strategy of the last five years the Headless Chook strategy.

at least now it looks like they have a strategy......chasing surfers who wear suits .......the question is how many are there , compared to surfers who don't....maybe they have stats that there are more suits than not????

If this is a joke, it's a really good one - the best since Steph in bed video - but with Pierre at the helm, I'm not so sure.

Hey Brutus, just got back in from a surf.

I'll pm you through your site soon.

If you're serious, I really like the look of the ATM. Be happy to drive down to Shonan to pick it up too.

Clean and small here today, lovely day. June isn't exactly the best time for waves here though, bring your groveller.

PS still can't get my head around these true wetsuits. I reckon it's some sort of attempt at viral marketing.

I'm loving the look of the suit on the Japanese model.

I'm definitely looking into wearing a neoprene suit to my next business meeting.

Do you think it would be possible to get one tailored with a tighter fitting leg than the one displayed ?

I hate it when the veins on my scrotum aren't visible against my trousers.
