Allow me a sidebar issue on our Honorable Prime Minister:

In 2010 Abbott opposed Kevin Rudd trying to secure a seat on the United Nations Security Council. And when Abbott opposes something you know it's opposed with vehemence:

"It was not a good use of taxpayers' money in tough economic times."

"There are vastly higher priorities for Australia right now than pursuing a seat on the security council."

etc etc etc...dropping the bid would save the gubbament a whopping $5.7 million!

In 2012, despite Abbott's displeasure, Australia won a seat on the UN Security Council.

And now in 2014 - irony of ironies! - Abbott is using Australia's position on the council to speak to the international community about MH-17 ("I'm going to shirtfront Putin") and about ISIS. If it weren't for Rudd (and later Gillard's) push for a seat Abbott would have no platform to speak.

All hail a leader with vision!

Well just put your paramedic hat on and see how it feels when your union is pissing your money up against the wall and building themselves (and family and mates) holiday houses up the coast. Until we get this cleaned up, we (Labor) are in the shit.

@ tony/grocer/nick3

All political corruption is bad regardless of what coloured hat the corrupted wear.

You seem to be saying Labor ministers were spending union money in brothels when in fact it was union officials. If you are aware of an elected member of parliament from the Labor Party caught spending money rooting a pro please inform the world. Obied and co were in the NSW Labor Party and caught doing dodgy things and I hope they go to court and do the time. Now ICAC has also shown is it 11 current NSW Liberal members of parliament doing corrupt things with political donations and "I see nothing" Sinodinos current suspended Assistant Treasurer in the Federal Parliament is a total disgrace.

All rotten apples should be tossed, got it.

Now as our resident negative correspondent on renewables what do you have to say about your pin up boy bending over and taking it up the arse again for the Minerals Council and Big Coal.

PS In spirit of saving tax payer money do you reckon Greg Hunt ought to resign and shut down his Environment Portfolio as clearly the government thinks it isn't needed?

@Floyd…you seem to have selective reading. Ok, then if you are really concerned, then join the Labor party and find out for yourself…easy to do. The corruption I saw was at the Federal level, simple. What concerned us Laborites is that we could not get anything thru or assistance because of the corruption. So Labor may have good intentions & policies but if there is corruption then those policies are worth zilch. May be read the election of Gough - you may get a sense of what the 1970s politics was about.

"While your at it you might want to tell everyone how Murdoch has "fed " all this Muslim head lopping to the poor gullible Australian citizen ."...... a few pages back, when Isis was front page stuff due to head lopping, I put up a few links to the front pages of newspapers in countries that aren't involved in going to Iraq with us, unlike England, and the USA...... Japan, Brazil etc...... At the time, headlopping/isis didn't even make headlines.... the planet has the answer and humanity may not like it, especially since they refuse to see they brought in on themselves, there is a tipping point to a closed system, earth's biosphere, and when one part of that system causes too much dysfunction, the built in law of functionality and sustainability takes over to pull that dysfunctional part back into balance. Watch this space, huge storm brewing near Alaska as I type.
